Poor Giles, he had ended up on Angel Island and not San Francisco. Phil Burgen, captain of the guards, felt sorry for Giles and that they shoud've just let him go.
I did time in TDC. I'd have loved to done time on Alcatraz. Huntsville could get up to 110 degrees in summer. The food was awful. I shared a cell with a guy who snored and farted.
@Gonken88 I thought it was about 7 men? I have never watched escape from Alcatraz, even though I've watched every other Prison movie that I have been able to. Don't know why I haven't seen that It's supposed to be historically correct right?
@INDLIS I know this comment is 2 years old but; there was several attempts but they either found the bodies or recaptured the escapers almost every time. however there is a wellknown escape by 3 men who managed to build a raft which was later found broken @ shore. their bodies were never recovered and statisticly they found 2/3 of every drowned body in that area so if they had drowned they should statisticly at least have found 1. mythbusters recreated the escape and made it and it's on YT
Very interesting. Thank you for posting.
hahahaha. that comment made me chuckle. same dude, same.
i'd crack up doing a month there let alone 26 yrs

i bet this man was excepted by society before somebody that did half of what he done
The real question that you should ask is. Is it true that there had been several escape attempts, but no one was known to have made it?
