  • Eagle Falls is also a very popular waterfall in Lake Tahoe as it has two separate sets of falls to it! The Upper Eagle Falls is around 50 feet high and is located about ¼ mile from the Eagle Falls Trailhead and is part of the Desolation Wilderness, while the Lower Eagle Falls flows down roughly 150 feet and is located in the Emerald Bay State Park. With the Upper Eagle Falls being part of the Desolation Wilderness, you’ll need to purchase a permit before hitting that trail, unlike Lower Eagle Falls. Both waterfalls are breathtaking and are perfect trails for families with younger kids. Remember to be careful, take lots of pictures, and enjoy the views!

We started our hike to Eagle Falls beginning at the lake near the Mansion. Great video but the only thing that wanted me to stop watching was the music repeating itself and the annoying sound. Other than that cool video

Well you can't take a bad picture or video of Eagle Falls or Emerald Bay. However people need to stop adding music to videos of Lake Tahoe attractions. A couple points, There's only one Eagle Falls which is right next to the highway, it has an upper section which is a classic sraight drop waterfall and a lower section which is more of a cascading waterfall. You missed one of the best shots which is from the bottom behind Vikingsholm Castle looking up at the falls. Your video of the trail going into Desolation Wilderness is simply a hike along the river cascading down from Eagle Lake which is a beautiful hike but is not where Eagle Falls is located. Also you said that there's a fee to get a permit for Desolation, there isn't. There's a self permitting station at the trailhead for day hiking into Desolation and it's free.
