This is my home lake. Can't wait to see your tournament video. Bushes are the thing when it's high.

I practiced at that "ramp". I fished on the bridge just because I thought it would be funny to say a caught fish off the road. I ended up fishing elsewhere.🤔. wrong decision looks like. Good win on a tough lake.

Just curious on how you keep your kayak safe on the trailer overnights if you are in a “shady” area like the AirBnB you were at?

Kris, this is what guys do. No awareness a lot of the time. I could give you tonnes of 'ah, it'll be fine' stories with men folk in our clan. It's sheer under-estimation of risk (and frequently woman folk are forced to over-compensate to the opposite extreme, to balance things out). Doyle Brunson, the card player in Vegas lost a quarter mill at the tables, and then joined his wife for brekie the next morning rather late (so late she missed the early bird discount time, to use her coupons and the brekie cost 'em twelve dollars). She scolded herself all the ways home, and he sat there, letting her be notion-less about the card table disaster. Doyle just said, that's when he realized just how cruel and heartless that he was.

Episode 600 of Wet Fly Swing with Gary Borger, goes through a bit of the American history of the sport and tackle industry. Quite back far. Not many know it, but Irish guys used to travel to St. Louis Missouri way back (and even compete in casting tournaments in central park in NY too), to compete in international fishing competition. Back in 1890's is when some of the big break through's or ideas were made.

I wish I were more cautious but I usually just role with it also 😂

    • @academicmailbox7798

@@kristinefischer2289 And some of the more extreme risk takers I've known in personal experience weren't men either (the reverse can also be the case, where the man in the situation has to be the cautious one, as opposed to the risk taker). In other words, I've known Doyle Brunson types too, who were 'the wife'. Except that individual you'll find won't be obvious, as risk-taking women folk in conservative society breaks the stereotype I articulated). And in those situations, it's other women who target the risk-taking female, for not fitting into the mold. And some of that in turn, may be a jealousy thing (a lot more females amongst us may be risk-taking by instinct, but deem it advantageous to signal conformity, so would then build up resentment over time towards the woman who created their own risky pathway or reality). It's quite complex how that group dynamic on the female side operates. My hunch is that men who are not instinctively risk hungry, they'll cultivate the risk-taking identity, simply to fit the mold better, on the mens' side of it.
