Speaking through the mind of an imaginary car thief, one would assume that vise-grips are merely basic car-jacking equipment to carry along when looking for a car with a five-finger discount.
I know. I was referring to the Campagna and other cars with quick release hubs. Why would one ever want to use vise-grips to steer a car if the car already has a steering wheel in place?
So...the vrod engine was designed by porsche...the notion that it "sounds american" is pretty subjective. I don't think it sounds anything like the vtwin harley engines, and as such, doesnt contain that "American" sound you are talking about imo. It tends to sound like any number of imported water cooler v-twins from Japan more than it does the Harley v-twin. It sounds just like the Vulcan 750 I used to have actually.
Like the Vanderwall Carmel better, It's faster, has doors, a roof, air conditioning, heated seats, and very stable being front wheel drive and $10,000 less.
