I love hopping up my CR01! I have a Unimog. I see you have the lower aluminum plate and dampers. I'm trying to keep mine only Tamiya, almost done! Currently waiting on the hardened prop shafts to arrive, I twisted the plastic units. What a fun thing to drive! This chassis was one of the first RC crawlers, EVER. It's certainly unique and belongs in its own category. Never-mind comparisons to newer more capable model's, that's not what this kit is about!
Hi, thank you for your kind comment!! I’m also trying to collect only Tamiya parts like you!! but it’s hardly to get dampers and other pop up option parts here in Japan, so I’ve imported them from the states by e-bay lol
Finally got those, “Tamiya cliff hangers”.. LOL! I have the same tires, they are really good but, from my experiences the foams inside need to be changed to better more firmer type. I went with beadlocks, and they hold air in them. They work like a charm. I love them. I had to retire the CR-01 last week due to the frame being bent from a crashed. I made a video on my new channel. KENYAB RC RACING.. check me out. I have the Traxxas TRX4 now. More videos will be coming soon. As always, you have the best movie type RC adventures LOL!!

@@RoryCR01Life ok, I do have a video on my beadlocks that I have installed on my own RC. The really important thing is, getting the right type of beadlocks and making sure that they work with your RC, which is the same as my CR-01 right? Now, look on the manual of the CR-01 chassis and check the right tire size information. 2.2 is the correct size in the width of the actual beadlocks…, and 64mm is the diameter of my beadlocks. I ordered these, from amazon japan, and they are the metal locking type. It’s very easy to install too. Beadlocks have great control and they are heavier than stock by far. If you need more information on what kind to buy, just let me know. My beadlocks are in consistent look and the screw pattern of the stock versions. Oh yea, the crash, i was able to fix the frame. I will have to put it all back together again. I have been lazy with it. LOL! My TRX4 Traxxas, is now my pride and joy 🤩. Just bought some new, “deep woods CR super soft compound wheels for it. Video coming soon. I did a comparison video, stock vs deep woods type CR, just for fun… check it out on my new channel, “KENYAB RC RACING”..
