- The Jaws Ride has been a staple at Universal Studios for 20 years, providing movie lovers and adventure seekers with the opportunity to experience the thrills of being harassed by the legendary great white menage, JAWS.
The very ending is so sad. Not only did the skipper say it but EVERYONE on the boat did to "Call off the Marines were coming home!!". Then at the end it was sad when the fireworks went off to celebrate and the lighthouse shined its light one last time before turning off forever :'(

I will miss this ride dearly, even though I've never been on it. Long live Jaws.

I was actually considering to go study in Orlando & try out to see if I could get a part time as a skipper on the Jaws Ride sometime in the Future. That came to a halt on December 2, 2011 when I saw on the news that it was closing forever in 1 month. I ended up deciding about a week before the closure to make the 4 hour early morning drive on the final day. Come to my page and check out the video I made of the final day.
This was a great ride. It's true the skipper makes the ride more real. I really miss it! Anyone else get a tear in there eye at the end of this video????

A Skipper would jump off the boat in the boathouse and let the tour continue without a Skipper. The Skipper would run on the island to meet back up with the boat at the steam dock across from Kill Shark (Final shark attacking boat) and jump back on. Old school Skippers were nuts and got away with a lot.
