I miss Rap! The sad thing is, when Mahalo Airlines really existed (way after this was shot). My experience flying it was similar to this bit. It was so hot on the tiny plane, stewardessesesses were handing paper towels out (from the roll) so that we could dry off! But hey, those plane tickets were cheap! $19 inter-island!
So not long ago (dec 2022) there was Boeing 777 taking off from Maui that climbed to 2200ft, then rapidly nose diving to 775ft before pilots regained control. This bit was the first thing that came to mind.
I'm know I'm so late to da pa'ina (2 years ago your comment) but he is a treasure. First time I heard Poi Dog album was at an inappropriate age -7 years old (1977) lol. But it was hilarious then as it was even more hilarious when I understood the rest of it better. I wish he was alive. No one could come close to matching his humor now. I love the rest of the older crews but they couldn't come close to Rap's talent.
I dated a girl from Hawaii in college and she introduced me to his stuff, he's one of my favorites now. I try to share his work to new people whenever I can.
@@bcastrob9226 I made sure to expose my kid to this at an inappropriately young age! 😂 We turned out fine, u know? And everyone’s too stuffy these days.
Yo I learned that word when I lived in Hawaii and thought it was just a normal funny word because everyone said it. Then when I moved back to the mainland I met some Portuguese Americans and said that word around me and they got so offended they tried to get me fired from my job. I didn't know it was a racial slur lol
@@ICTS22 it's how locals pronounce Portaguese, so it's not a slur if that's how they say it. Local comedians made it famous and made fun of themselves. I have actual Portuguese friends from Hawaii who would tell you it's not a problem unless you say it like an insult. So obviously I mean zero disrespect to Portuguese people or anyone else. The fact that I'm watching this video shows that I appreciate the Hawaiian culture that I grew up with. "Franklin Wilcox Napuakekaulike De Lima is of Portuguese, Spanish, Irish, Scottish, English, Chinese, and Hawaiian descent. De Lima is known for light-hearted "Portagee" (Hawaiian Pidgin English for "Portuguese") slurs in his routine."
So in case, we plummet headlong into the raging surf below, simply blow up your balloons tie dem wit string and fasten den to your arms, like so... ROFLMAO after hearing this 100 X.
rotfl...forgot about mahalo airlines, neva even carry mail on dat kine plane! you know tha flight cheap but omg one samoan board first? neva mine cuz im good.
