I find that a good way to not get annoyed when someone blocks you, is to just know that as soon as that gap opens and you go through, they've probably just made themselves even more angry at being stuck in traffic because they didnt accomplish anything and you didnt give them the satisfaction of a reaction, which is what they want. Works every time 😂
I really enjoy watching your videos-thanks for sharing! I used to commute daily from Glasgow to Edinburgh for three years, even through the winters, so I understand how tough some days on the road can be. I have a small suggestion: maybe try giving a quick, exaggerated nod to thank other drivers instead of using a hand signal. Keep up the great content!

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yes the camera does do that, it's a wide angle lense with an ND filter that emphasises motion blur etc. there were a few tight sqeezes tho 🥶
@RTPOV ouch. 3.5hrs, time is money, the bikes paying for itself now what an investment! Ment to mention earlier my saying for filtering is gaps are traps!
That's a great saying! Never heard that before! Nice on man! Yes getting back onto a bike has been the best thing I've done in a long long time! Ride safe! 👊
I ride and it's genuinely heartwarming when people make an effort to shift over a little to make filtering easier for us (of course, I give an obvious "thanks" if it's safe for me to). And as a driver, it feels good to have the motorcyclist make an effort and say thanks. Good shit all round. The ones that move to close the gap, how sad they must be to feel as though they need to do that xD
Great video, this is my daily struggle when I commute to work with the bike. The big gaps are so obvious that the car drivers are on their phones and that creates a major hazard for us bikers as like you say, it’s an opportunity for the nuggets to change lanes at the last minute without warning. I too get the nuggets that block me but like you, I just hang back that extra few seconds and make the pass 😀
That is so real , well done for forgiving the blockers, you are of course so right in your way of thinking . There is no way they are going to hold you up anywhere near what they have to endure . My assumption is when I meet a blocker is that its their form of entertaining themselves to relieve the boredom of being unable to do what us bikes can . We all make errors like using kill switch and not turning ignition off , good job another biker there to help out . I've helped several , one day I hope the favour will be returned if I'm in need . ...
Hey, Thanks for taking time to comment and input! Yes you are right. They are just being really petty. I think these people are truly unhappy in life. I feel sorry for them more than anything. But look, many more drivers gave space than blocked, so thats reassuring! And yes, ultimate faith in humanity was restored ny that guy at the end.. what a legend!
Another amazing video dude!!! 👊 I always flip my mirrors when filtering. Sadly I've clipped a few car mirrors (accidentally) when the gap has been a little too tight. I thought it was just me that encountered the deliberate blockers too! 😂
Thanks man! I luckily haven't done it yet and usually don't go through if it looks too tight. Defo had some close calls though! But I've never tried tucking in the mirrors either. Difficult one. I guess for me, if it's too tight to fit through with mirrors out then maybe it's just too tight?. How did they react when you did it? Did you stop for them etc?
Hiya buddy, smashing video again really enjoyed it. I'm very worried for the British population mate, surely being stuck in traffic like this cannot be good for mental health?
Awesome video. I too have pondered the issue of thanking drivers but keeping my hands on the bar. I now usually nod to them or wave a leg. Stay shiny side up fella!!
Down my way south m11 motorway lots of people open their doors and go for a walk or take their dogs for a walk wrong way down hard shoulder even gathering in groups for a chat & sharing food doors every where wide oppen no one in the vehicles, I'm 60y this is my birth place and I have never known this before, what is going on with people's brains.
Great vid and love the commentary, especially as you keep focus. I tend to keep my hands on the bars and acknowledge considerate drivers with a boot off either sode. Also i use my horn .... a lot ... when i've been blocked intentionally. It's about communicating that you are there, right? What are your thoughts on using your horn?
Hey, thanks so much for saying that! I've never tried the foot signal! So this video was recorded last week, and this weekend I was on the Bikesafe course. We were encouraged to use the horn... as you say... It's there to alert other road users of your presence. Theres a myth in this country that its only to be used in anger. Igo to Brazil most years, and they use it all the time to let you know they are there. Constant beeping everywhere.
@RTPOV a quick beep is enough to get a driver to lift their guilty eyes off their phone, repeated or heavy beeping is just going to enrage. I see a few bikers now bouncing their engines off the rev limiter instead of using their horn, that's a really bad habit that can only annoy and enrage. I don't know if car drivers understand a boot gesture as a thank you but there's so little time when filtering to take a hand off the bars. Am waiting on delivery of the Aoocci system, much like your Chigee, it'll mount great on my Multistrada.
Nice work. Six miles and more is a regular event on the M25, but I never rely on waiting for any kind of recognition from the drivers, most of them are daydreaming their way through the traffic. When I go through a gap I make it my decision. What a great advertisement for a bike though 🙂
Thanks great advice! Only just back on 2 wheels this year and don't do too much motorways. I can imagine how bad the M25 is. I did have a much longer stint on the M6 earlier this year but wasn't recording. Thanks for taking time to comment and Ride safe! 🏍️💨

my son in law blocks bikers from filtering. Me being a biker, we’ve had a few disagreements about this behaviour, but he’s done it since he had a mirror smashed off by a filtering biker who just took off on the motorway, and it cost him a few hundred quid. I tried explaining most bikers wouldn’t do this, wouldn’t go so fast and wouldn’t attempt to squeeze through a gap if they judged they wouldn’t fit but he just won’t change his ways, he says he not taking the chance again.
That's an interesting perspective. Thanks for sharing. If I ever clipped someone I would stop and offer to pay for any damage. Maybe show him this video? His story has made me wonder though, was he already blocking the bike and squeezing the gap. Did the biker intentionally hit his mirror off? If not, and on a motorway he would have had to have been pretty far over in the lane for a bike to have hit him accidentally making me think he was perhaps already blocking the biker and squeezing the gap? Unless he was in a standstill and already in that position?
I’m mostly shocked at how empty lane 1 & 2 were for all that distance at the end. That won’t help with clearing the traffic if people don’t use all the available road space
