my guess as to why Zurg sounds different is because this is the first version of this ride and when it opened, Toy Story 2 hadn't been released yet, so they just got whatever voice they could.
Idk if it’s the recording but the escape hatch projection tunnel seems to have a much clearer and much brighter projection, idk if they fixed it or what.
This ride needs some TLC! The week long refurb from a month ago didn't seem to improve much of anything. They need to spend more time bringing this one back to it's former glory. Watch the POVs from 1998 or 1999. You'll see what I mean.
Well sure, at the time this video got posted the ride before the week long refurbishment wasn't looking good. But after it got sorta better, and if you look at the ride today it's getting close to it's original opening days in the late 90's like for example the blue pterodactyl has been fixed recently due to it not working for nearly 20 years...
@@russcarhart3909 I noticed that also! Cool to see it working again. But other things still are out of order. The Box-O-Bot isn't working, the aliens grabbing the LGM around the halfway point of Planet Z aren't working, and they turned off the lights in Zurg's mouth.
My god what did they do to they queue? What were they thinking?! I’m this new configuration totally ruins the pacing of the queue, like buzz ‘s briefing should be the finale of the queue, not in the middle, just weird
I disagree, for 1998 it was amazing. It has several revisions from the later versions that would plus it without a doubt but comparing it to your standard "Boo Blasters" it still has alot of interesting setpieces and design. My favorite bit is the peoplemover integration and I think it's longer than the other versions as well. I kinda like these practical set shooters more than Midway Mania as well. This version really needs the feedback that the later versions have though as far as letting you know you hit a target.
@@Jspider56 this is actually my favorite ride and even though it is old it's still one of the most popular rides. Also by the way they are going to fix any glitches and mistakes for the 50th anniversary of DisneyWorld.

My god this is a terrible shooter ride, even for Disney in 1998! Hopefully it gets a complete overhaul soon.
