I am still unable to fathom far less accept how a dog that showed no signs of pain or even discomfort could suddenly drop dead. He was his usual self just hours before he died - barking at passerby, digging up our front yard and other things that rotties do... and then bang. I didn’t even get to say goodbye. He was just six weeks away from his fourth birthday. I consulted three vets, they all pointed to cardiac arrest. Sorry about the long-ass reply. I guess it’s just a tiny part of my coping mechanism.
