I've been working on my walk for a few years. When I saw you walking in the video I loved the balance and smoothness. As soon as I started moving my arms forward in a single plane, it all fell into place. I love walking and now it's even more fun. Thanks.

I appreciate your response and guidance! I've started your videos, & it seems as if i see a better sense of balance down the road. Wow, thank you. I will be cautious because i don't take walking for granted anymore. Thank you so much!

Most succinct video connecting the eight energies to walking and taichi…and dancing tango, and to whatever else. You’re a genius and a blessing! 🙏💕✨

Instead of people laughing at my walk, I want to be sliding and striding, moving and grooving. I wanna be a shooting star that can't be stopped. I hate it when I lurch, fumble and stumble.

This method makes more sense than all this post modern walking on the forefoot stuff!!! Dr. Martin integrates the ancient Chinese Tai Chi Chuan martial arts movements in developing optimal walking technique!!!
I think I'm going to cheat a little bit though with a bit of deductive reasoning: If we start with the premise that Fatima Diame ❤ approximates perfection of physical form and biomechanical motion to a degree unsurpassed by any other human currently living on the planet it would be prudent to study both her running biomechanical methodology and her walking foot motion technique in slow motion as well!!!
By approximating her running and walking motion as much as physically possible and adhering to the walking biomechanical principals advocated by Dr. Martin the vast majority of people will be on the right 😊 path to ergonomic optimal walking motion!!!
Does imitating Fatmia Diame's running motion make you run 🏃‍♂️ as fast as Fatima Diame???
    OF COURSE NOT!!!
Does imitating Fatima Diame's walking motion make you walk as eloquently as Fatima Diame???
    CERTAINLY NOT!!!
However, can a technical study of
Fatima Diame's biomechanical athletic movements provide valuable insight into developing more technically effective and efficient walking technique???
    MOST DEFINITELY!!!

@ToddMartinMD When I was driving 🚗 home, I realized I should have said emulate her walking style, not imitate, but I left it alone because one time I tried to edit a comment on RUclips and the whole piece got deleted!!! I understand the more contemporary younger people are interested in MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which are awesome arts, but I would love to find a Chinese Tai Chi Chuan school in Boca Raton, Florida!!!

I have a ligament laxity problem affecting my ankles & feet. I'm 73, & i have managed to walk with over the ankle hiking boots. I also have very hard carbon orthotics. Walking barefoot is very difficult. I want to do modest hikes/walks on nearby trails. Tendon transfer surgery gives me pause. The bottom line is, should i give it up?

It’s very important to be able to enjoy those types of activities. If you can use supports in conjunction with muscle strengthening exercises which help stabilize, I would hope you could continue the activities. Technique is also key. If you are developing joint or tendon damage, then you would have to be very cautious.

Your videos are extremely helpful, thank you. I need to change everything about my walking, but struggling to coordinate all movements to start correcting and making changes. What exercise /movement should be my first focus ? . One positive is my feet face forward. My pelvis is tilted and twisted, hip bursitis & si joint dysfunction on right side. I have shallow hips and have a laberal tear. I really notice 1, 2 stomp no 1,2,3 😢

Maybe if you have som thoughts on running I think a lot of people would be interested. I like your demos on walking but I wonder how this translates over to running in terms of aiming for less impact and less injuries. I know the mechanics are very different but maybe you can address this in a future video.

I do have several videos on running technique on the channel using the same principles. Here is a link to one. You can also search for my reviews on Pose running where I also go over my recommended core movement technique and analysis. ruclips.net/video/7dtW9k9R2UU/видео.html

How long does it take for people who have been pushing and walking a little bit forward to get used to going back to normal pulling? I think it would be a bit difficult, I mean, after all, for someone who has been pushing for a long time to go back to pulling.
Do I need to do exercises or reminders (body to brain) to get used to it?

I think this is probably the easiest to fix because I had to fix this same problem myself many years ago. I believe it took several weeks to smooth it out while thinking and maybe a couple of months before it became natural, but I also didn’t have any instruction and had not yet developed The Walking Code. It may have been easier for me since I was already a dance instructor at the time, but I know it is fixable.
