Hi i'm viatron from Sheffield once again, well one old classic coach which they had were an A.E.C. RELIANCE MU3RV type fitted with a Plaxton Panorama Mk.V coach body dating from the the late-50s via it's use to be owned by Sheffield United Tours in Sheffield. It were also fitted with an A.E.C. AH505 7.61 litre 6-cylinder horizontal diesel engine via an A.E.C. 5-speed synchromesh gearbox what also been used on the Leyland Tiger Cub version. This old now fully restored Plaxton Panorama Mk.V bodied A.E. C. RELIANCE MU3RV front entrance single deck coach from Sheffield United Tours of Sheffield is now preserved in it's former glory at the South Yorkshire Transport Museum in Rotherham. Thanks for your co-operation on this very special exciting Plaxton Panorama coach subject from David Viatron Esquire of crookes in Sheffield.
A very educational clip giving insight to the painful aspects of the hobby. It's vital to have help and knowhow to turn to any time. Love the Titan. Please show it's move.
Really enjoyed that, I've not really thought about the logistics of it all! I lived on the island in the early 2000s, I worked for Hovertravel as an engineer at Ryde. I hope the roads are better than when I lived there, they were horrendous!
The itv regional titles LWT this time superb ,I must say you drove your leopard perfectly and looked relaxed mate ,foxes of Hayes we used at my school used duple bodied leopards going to beconsfield in a brand new one in 77 nice All the best Mark 😊😊
Excellent video .. moving your “fleet” of buses to IoW makes great footage .. Leo is a handsome coach! As a member of Amersham & District Motorbus Society we used to hire ex Green Line RB135 a rather nice AEC Reliance with a similar Duple Body to Leo.. reg EPM135V .. then owned by Ivins Coaches of High Wycombe, for our society’s trips to Rallies etc. Sadly long gone .. but we have access to Peter Cartwright’s trio of Ex London Transport Country Area buses now … namely 1953 AEC Regal 1V RF673; 1953 Guy Special GS13 & 1966 Routemaster RML2440. So I do know what it’s like to move a barn find .. I helped clear the path for the recovery of RF305 back to Bucks .. sadly that bus is no more, scrapped & parts used to pay off its previous owners debts at that time (back in early 1990).
Hi Jake, great video about Leo. I know where it was parked in deepest West Sussex, a few years previously I'd parked Leopard coach, ex Southdown 1321 EAP 921V, (re-registered OPV 821), in exactly the same place. I'd just re-patriated it from Scotland.
@@normanstanbridge9651 We only went there three times, first time with Neil and then twice on our own! Very interesting farm. Lots of old stationery engines lying around.

Not really. It's called an empty movement (sounds a bit dodgy written down like that!) and can be anywhere between £127 and £400 - the higher price being during festival week!
Hi Jake, I wonder if you are able to help me source a Leyland Titan, I used to drive them at LT .. I want to get one over to Australia where I live now.. but having no joy finding one.
Hi, they do come up occasionally but not as often. Ebay is a good start but those tend to be playbuses and failed conversions. Not sure of the logistics of the move to Australia.
How did you manage to get 57mph out of 5809, I used to drive her when she was new at Tunbridge Wells depot, in those days if you got 38 mph out of her you where doing well.
She's been re-engined with a different ratio gearbox at one of the companies she worked at. We were on a gentle slop on the A27 admittedly but she flew. Faster than what I actually intended if I'm honest. Her sister 5807 still tops out at 38mph though...
We had 5801 through 5815 new to Tunbridge wells, the steering on 5815 was so heavy that to get round cars corner roundabout in Tunbridge Wells the driver needed to stand up to pull the steering around.
Love the growl of a leopard 🐆..and the LWT signature tune 👍

Nice bit of leyland 680H action

Love the Titan. Please show it's move.
Thanks James. Yes you bet I'll show the Titans move. I'm not going to suffer alone 😉🤣
Awww I love this - Leo is gorgeous bus and of course she didn’t give you any trouble she was build like to last!
awesome effort Jake
Thanks Chris
oooh looking forward to the NUW episode!
I used to volunteer at the military museum when it first opened in 2003, good to see its still going.
Love it! You can't beat a film that has a happy ending. Would like to see a sequel. How about "Leo and the Smart Motorway?" Great 1960s style intro.
Glad you enjoyed it. Fortunately we don't have any miles of smart motorways on the Isle of Wight so I'm afraid that sequel is looking a bit iffy.

Thanks David. It's sad when things get scrapped isn't it? But we can't save them all unfortunately.

Fortunately you can still get the rear lights and the wiring is fairly simple to replace. But there will be a time when LED is the only option.
