- This Fujitsu Primergy TX100 S3 belongs to a friend of mine. In this video I show you how I cleared the harddrives and see how it does in modern Linux. Is it a good enough desktop today? Can we even play some games with it, if we add a decent graphics card? Let's find out!
The intro consists of me singing over "The Rostrum" from the Wacky Wheels OST.

4:11 hey it me! Hi me!
Hello me! Nice talking to myself! 😆
I remember thé pinguin game. Was my childhood.
Leuke video! Ik denk dat deze server nog een leuke pc kan zijn 😊
Dat denk ik ook! En met dit stroomverbruik zelfs nog prima in te zetten als servertje voor thuis. :)
I also loved to upgrade old machines, some years ago I ordered a used CPU from China and also used a Nvidia 750ti I had laying around in an old office machine.
How did that Chinese cpu work out? Sounds interesting!
@@ex-itguy Was some years ago, can't remember it well. I think it was a Core 2 Quad. Looked in the PC manual before, what max cpu I could take! Ordered via Ebay. It arrived maybe 1 1/2 weeks later. And worked straight away! Never had a problem with it, and with the GPU it was enough to run Counterstrike well! But I gifted the PC to a friend. But it was the reason I got into PC gaming again, this little upgrade project I made. I now own a prebuild and am happy with it ;)
Ah so it was a proper Intel cpu. It can be hit or miss with stuff from China haha. Nothing wrong with prebuilds. If it's good it's good. ;)
@@ex-itguy It was about energy consumption, I build a system myself but it consumed 130w in idle (whole system with monitor etc). And everything was configured the best I could do. I then sold it and bought a prebuild, now 80w in idle (whole system again). I don't know if its something with efficiency and self builds. The components where all very good. Sure, it also had a liquid cooler etc. But the prebuild got about the same power as my self build back then. And consumes way less.
That's quite the difference indeed! Hard to find which components cause that without having others to try.
The GTX670 that I show shortly in this video performs about the same as the GTX1050Ti... but uses about twice as much power, both idle and under load.
Btw if you like low power devices, you might like the unit in the video I'm working on now. ;)
I'm surprised the power draw isn't actually that bad. I still wouldn't use it as a server though, running that 57 watts continously would cost €150 per year.
If you keep the onboard video it's just over 30 watts, which isn't that bad. Not the best but surely more powerful than mini systems of the same age if needed.
You made a grown man want to play disney speedstorm 😂
Haha, it's awesome! 😆
Nice, but can it run crysis? 🤔
Dammit, forgot to try that! 😂
DBAN!
Does basically the same. :)
7:52 is that Dutch???!!!!
Yes it is 😄
@@ex-itguy do you speak Dutch?
Jazeker 😄
@@ex-itguy ik ook lol!
Ik ook!
悪くないね🤔
