The way the Adventuring Party directly prior to this episode is basically required viewing for this season as it's the start of their obsession with the Orange Fairy.

I will say that one was truly an awful one to skip as someone who did and was so instantly confused by this energy
This was the horror season
Just like Escape From The Bloodkeep was supposed to be “the evil game” and ended with everyone not betraying each other and deciding to essentially rule together as friends.
Going into a fight and your entire group of opponents keep you alive as long as possible and you’re like “why” and they’re like “we just REALLY like your cool hat”
Fuckin Zac laying back during the bardic conversation like he’s rehearsing his own funeral
The god of death is up a hat
Zac lying down like a dead man at 4:14 and lou and ally losing it never fails to make me laugh
This exact moment KILLS me, it never gets old
We need Murphy's straight man in these shenanigans as the balance to make it even better. When someone's sensible outlook is constantly being hassled by their chaotic friends: epitome of hilarity 😂

I love that the overall thought pattern behind their outfits this session seems to have been "soft to dark academia" and then there's Murph with his siren-bright red DnD Christmas sweater xD

The last 2 episodes of Neverafter were some of the most nonsense shenanigans nonstop in D20 ever and I am so here for it.

i know that people complained about this season, and i do agree that it very quickly stopped being "horror", i still loved it. just fully unhinged from start to finish.
Agreed, I feel like the total party kill did change the tone of the season, possibly because as Brennan put it, death renders everything around it absurd. It falls under “tragic comedy” rather than “macabre horror” which is fine. But hey, the D20 team took notes and put ALL their horror muscles into Burrow’s End.

I'm very much glad that this season ended like this cause Jesus Christ I don't know if I could've taken another ending similar to ACoC.

Honestly, can't blame you. If I was playing a character like Ylfa with a lot of the same choices, I'd have opted for a cosmically tragic ending in which I had become the new Big Bad Wolf, and while a version of Ylfa exists in the world, it isn't the one who shared the adventure with her friends, and the version that did is the new manifestation of Death, whose eternal, cosmic solitude is eased by the knowledge that one day, when her friends have all finished their Happily Ever After, they are ushered off to the great beyond joined by a very old, very young friend, with a very orange hat.
But hey, that's just me.

I was making a fuck tonne of gnocchi while watching the final battle episodes and APs, and I had to stop to just wheeze during the "fairy with the orange top hat" bits

My favorite moments are always the ones where it gets so chaotic that Brennan gives in completely to the insanity
