- Part of the Winkler Road extension project moves a portion of the sidewalk CLOSER to the road. People who use it say this is putting their safety at risk.
in most places sidewalks are within 3 feet of the street, this sounds like whining about NOTHING
To me the speed of the road looks to be double the speed of even our side walks 5 feet from the road which has a curb. If they put a side walk near a highway would you use it?
@@Budvbthis is a residential road, not a highway.
@@Dingleberry1856 posted speed 45 so then ppl do on average 50 to 55 wonder what type of dog a 55 mph texter hitting you with no brake @ 55 does. I bicycle and I know, I would not feel safe traveling down that road let alone walking 2 ft away with a flat surface between you and the road. You go get smacked @ 45 and let me know if you survive?
@@Budvb The speed limit is 45mph. Call the cops on speeders.
Bicycles shouldn’t be on roads with a posted speed limit over 25mph.
If the car would hit you on a sidewalk 2 foot from the road, it would hit you 8 foot away, they’re on their phone texting.
@@Dingleberry1856 @0:21 yup looks 8 ft
I love how the state mentioned the Americas with disabilities act. I don't think the A.W.D act. Says it's better to move a sidewalk closer to any road let alone a highway. Did not one person working on this project think fill in the low land and rebuild the sidewalk. Or is it federally funded project if that's the case.then "build back better" just became "build back if we have to".
It is Lee county not the state. You obviously know little.
The community probably installed the sidewalk when it was developed and then turned it over to the county when maintaining it became a nuisance to the development.
I hate sidewalks too many losers use them. It brings riff Raff into the neighborhood
Same folks that complain "I'm not using that sidewalk, is too close to the cars" are the ones that oppose better bike lanes
Bikes shouldn’t have access to the roadways without registration. The spandex mafia deserves no special treatment.
When the ignorant entitled get a news story over nothing.
Wimping country.
