Read the instructions. With infrared leak detectors you need to keep it moving. To test it you can use a sharpie pen or you can use a gas stove with out a flame.
Ty for the video! Had one of these tossed at me and wanted to make sure I was using it right after trying to find a leak on a rtu. Really appreciate you and I'd hit it with bubles after I got an ir ping. Funny though that fieldpiece says more accurate than bubbles and we still won't stop bubble time ;)
I think im team fieldpiece by accident, i bought an sman3 and then i started seeing yellow everywhere, vacuum pump & guage, probes, thermometer, leak detector,..lol...my sman3 still kicking, their stuff last, i can attest. Great job as usual fam.
First I love Fieldpiece! But I’ve been really disappointed by the DR82. I’ve had at about a year and I seem to really struggle with small leaks. So it’s going up on EBay. Decided to send in my H-10 to reapaired and sticking with that for now.
I've heard of that, it's a tool you really should trust. So I was cautious coming from another one I really enjoyed but luckily so far it's doing good. I'll be testing it more.
I recently bought the h-10 pro and im not sure if i love it yet but i continue to work with it...my Fieldpiece heated diode seems to be giving alot of false positives these days but imma see
@@marjones69 NorCal Dave on RUclips has great videos. He’s also showed how to get the best use out of the H-10. Actually there are few out there on using the H-10. I’ve got an ultrasonic I use as a back up too
Th DR82 is an infrared detector and you have to keep moving it, and Fieldpiece leak detectors work better for blended refrigerants. The H-10 works better for one component refrigerants like R-22. You can check to see if it's working by moving a sharpie pen in front of the DR82 there's something in the pen that will let the DR82 register like a leak. Or natural gas will work, just turn on your stove with out a flame and it will register like a leak.
Heard they are good, cool that you can detect CO2 also with a sensor change. Honestly I had an old tekmate that never let me down from them so I trust em.
I’ve been running the dr82 as well. So far I’m liking it. I kind of wish it wasn’t rechargeable and would have taken batteries like the probes but o well. My FP micron gauge doesn’t show microns on my app? How did you get it to change over?
That's a good one. Eventually I want to try one, would be good for those hard micro leaks. I just want to see how it does when it's windy or other noises around
The MG44 which is the one I use has 1000 feet of range. I'm able to connect to it while I go back to the van for a break. But it depends on the building, it can make it difficult if there's a lot of walls and things in between you and the gauge
I wish i hadn't wasted my money on this piece of junk. Seemed to work good when i first got it first time i used it. After that no good. Bought an h 10 pro works great

Just got my sc480 clamp meter. I'm stoked to get back into the game. Lets get that $
This is next on my list. Easy to make extra money with this tool.

always gotta verify. and no problem, it's been a good one for me
This detector has been on my wishlist for a while... I think this was what I needed to make the purchase.
I love the lighted tip and the form factor. Compact and rugged
@@ReliableHVACR The light up tip was something I was really interested in.
I got the Hilmor infrared leak detector. It’s been picking up leaks really well!
That one I trusted very much, I just broke it tho 😅
I need a leak detector for work would you recommend this and does it detect all kinds of refrigeratant
Did you ever test side by side with an ultrasonic?

Same dude I’ve ended up with Bluetooth fieldpiece everything, half my diagnostics are done using my phone now

yep i got mine about 3 mouths ago its amazing
What's your opinion on the Inficon D-Tek 3? Good brand?. Can pick one up at a discounted price.
Heard they are good, cool that you can detect CO2 also with a sensor change. Honestly I had an old tekmate that never let me down from them so I trust em.
Great to see you getting sponsors Great video

Yeah maybe, as long as it isn't D batteries like my old Tek mate 😂
It's linked? What's it showing ?
@@ReliableHVACR yes it’s linked. It shows mmhg. But on the actual display it’s in microns.
@@MRICE-qe4sv ohh ok. When you first open job link click on "more" then click on "unit settings" and there you can change units on all tools
Where did you get the fitting for your Klein ratcheting wrench? I can not find one anywhere
On Amazon, they are Allen key bits. I have them in my tool Link under hand tools
Could you send me the link
amzn.to/3Ot4kUF
does it pick up r290?
Can i use detector when the AC is off and low on gas
Yeah, it's preferred when it's off so the suction pressure isn't so low either. Low on gas is usually ok unless it is a really tiny micro leak
Bro how much does it cost?
Where do you get your sleeves?
Online at safishing & hvactactical , I also have Amazon links to them in my tool Link
LOL at that point you didn't need the detector to find it. That sucks, but it was sure easy to find!
😂 well I had it with me, I wanted to show it a little
Have you tried the DR52? This DR82 looks bad ass
No but same features basically on the DR58, just different sensor.
What brand is that service wrench your using on the king valves? I like it
Klein ratchet with mulwark bits, it's in my tool Link as well
This vs accutrak ultrasonic leak detector?
That's a good one. Eventually I want to try one, would be good for those hard micro leaks. I just want to see how it does when it's windy or other noises around
Both heh
Very nice my country India product price
Think the prowler does a better job
How much is this ?
You can usually get a good deal online on trutechtools , this one is on the high end around $450 or so and the heated diode version around $300
@@ReliableHVACR yeah I rather go head and get the best one
@@Mapdotgolf yeah this is my 2nd infrared one and I like that the sensor lasts forever
👍🇺🇸❄️💪 I have it n I’m a fan great vid

They always leak at the solenoid valve.😂
If it's not an h10 it's junk. Done.
😂👍🏽
H-10 is weak for 410a
The h10 is bad ass fuck though

I guess it's hit or miss, mine still works.
I just can't carry around a suitcase for the equipment I work on so I prefer the handheld ones
Best on the market
