- I don't know what is the real purpose of this option in the Photoshop Actions Window, but from time to time I remember its existence and use it almost like a game. This way ...

Very helpful. I wanted to create a handwriting animation and couldn't find a way to hide the cursor, but this approach makes it very simple and the ability to replay it with different brushes is awesome as well!
There are some capturing tools, like Camtasia, that gives you the option to hide the cursor (including the brush shape). I guess that kind of approach could result in a smooth recording if your intention is to record something not really short. The Photoshop action repreduction could be a little laggy if the brush is a heavy one.
Thanks for the comment!
PS: I can't remember right now but I'm almost sure that Bandicam (which from my point of view is the best capturing tool I know) also has the 'hide cursor' option.
Alex Dukal Thanks for these suggestions! I’m trying out the Pshop action recorder but will give those others a look.
i like how this was not what i was looking for but still i enjoyed this so much
FR
Exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks. When i search for Photoshop timelapse it's always something else
It's to help make redundant tasks easier to help lighten the work load. I used it for work to create keyboard shortcuts at don't exist, and for batch editing (i.e. resize 100 images)...
I didn't even know that 'Allow tool recording' function existed!
Photoshop is a box of surprises ;-)
sure is..
Clever trick. Thanks for sharing :)
dude this is awesome. THANK YOU!!!
How did you export this Alex? Did you record the recording or? Thanks :)
Hey Daria. This one is pretty old can't remember which software I've used but nothing difficult, to replicate it today I probably could use Bandicam to record the screen, up to date is the best recording tool I found through the years.
@@alexdukal I'll check it out, thank you :)
@@DariaOrionova You're welcome. Take care!
ah yeah that allow tool recording ! thanx man !
Can you then export the recording as a gif/animation?
yes, that's my question how to save it ?
thank you
You could use a screen record software like OBS and then import back the frames of video into Photoshop. Then export as Gif

Bingo.
you are amazing
how about when coloring?
I wish I could record this with transparent background to frames.
After Effect had a very good one, but Adobe took it out. So sad. many people are asking the company to bring it back. I did a gallery show based where all the works had, lines made with that tool. www.behance.net/gallery/58517819/Moving-Drawings
Cool tip! Thanks for sharing!
How do you export the drawing being done as a video like you did?
+Eli Obus Actually I'm using Bandicam but you can use any other Screen Recorder
+Alex Dukal Ah ok, thanks a lot!
is there a way to get drawing animation of an old project that you haven't recorded yet??
but I'ts dosen't work if your do Ctrl+Z ....so when your draw you can't undo ( the action of undo won't be recorded)
you can only erase ...this is a hard new habit to get .....
This will fry my laptop lol
great idears. thanks for video
U a genius
this was really helpful
is there a way i can download it after?
this is cool
thanks, this is what I was looking for!
HOW DO YOU EXPOPRT AS A VIDEO
Does anyone know how to "re-locate"and action on the canvas? If I draw a word for example, but want to move where it draws on the page? Or do I have to re-draw it all together?
Not sure at all but without opening Photoshop to check it I guess when you record the action it records the X & Y coordinates, starting from the first point you make, so the best you could do is to make the recording in the top left of your canvas in a new layer and then move and relocate that layer to the place you want.
photoshop actions arent recording brush strokes?
I can't remember "When" this option was implemented but yes, it is still working perfectly. It records your brush strokes if the option is activated and included in an action.
which version of photoshop it was ?
+kaynat Khimani Not 100% sure but I was probably using PS CS6
Hi, how do you do so that you dont see the pencil mark in the recording?
As this one is pretty old I can't remember exactly what I did at that time but I'm almost sure that's related to the software I used to record the video (at that time I was using Camtasia Studio, but Bandicam also let you 'hide' the cursor and the brush too).
@@alexdukal thank you dude!
Dear Alex, thanks for sharing.
I tried your method, but my reproduction is extremely fast. Coud you guess why? Your final process seems to be not that fast. Thanks.
how can i export
You only could save the Action or use a screen recording software to record the action while playing it.
@@alexdukal AND HOW ITS DONE?
link ?
Link? You don't need a link, just Photoshop ;-)
