Big Wave Russ.....Boy the road over Schaffer's pass was not made by a First Born....that was quite the little spring spring, and those purple flowers with the yellow are so pretty. Are the mountains ever beautiful....and of course the little donkeys are quite healthy looking...they look like they are well fed....Well thumbs up to that one Russ....Thanks for the share from Carolyn and Colin Hogarth Canada...Big Wave Russ...

Hey Russ..been by that area many times. After watching your videos I'm gonna have to check it out. That spot you were pulled over at had amazing views.. would make an excellent overnight camp !
Howdy Russ, my wife and I pulled our camper to Bullhead City March of 2019. Spent the month and fell in love with the area so much we stored the camper and went back for the month of June. We wanted to experience the heat but the camper not equipped to handle the July and August heat. We drove Route 66 from Oatman to Kingman once but several times to Clearwater and Hackberry. That road reminded me so much of the Pikes Peak highway with all the turns and switchbacks. You talk a lot about the wildflower blooms. I have a friend that lives in Lake Havasu and he loves to go out in the desert and photograph wild flowers.
I always had a facination with the Old West, Arizona and New Mexico are my favorites.
Russ, watching 2019 Summer videos u made. Sacramento area, you stayed in farm community for a night, my sis had Emu they protect animals from coyotes. Now seeing Preston Castle.
I agree, every time I go up there I see something new. I want to get up into those white cliffs. Thanks for letting us see it from the sky.

Good eye for scenery, Russ. Your shot of that kind of chimney top mountain feels like deja vu to me. I can so envision the old Conestoga wagons with pioneers traveling that area. I love it!! The sky is so blue and it looks like Summer there. Still cold in @#$& ILLINOIS. Freezer land. Gimme a good noisy donkey..
I got to say Russ you popped that camera over the edge of that fishbowl & It took my breath away. I always love the area around Oatman. Those have to be my favorite video's you've done. Never get tired of them. Always something new to see.

This piece of the 66 is one of my fave motorcycle rides.Russ awhile back you made a video of the part of the 66 closed. I decided to check it out on my bike.Theirs about 6 small bridges that are broken and uncrossable.However they have small roads thru the washes to get around them .No problem with regular vehicles "motorhomes not recommended" except of course during rain storms.Never have i been so lonesome in California.Really interesting exploring ,Essex,Chambless,and then on to Amboy.Just thought id pass this on if you wanna check it out sometimes.Thanx for your vids,theyve been helpfull to me and i just wanted to give something back to you........

There's one done just like that on Spirit Mt. just up the hill from Laughlin. I used to work at the mine just over the hill and did in fact see a 50' semi come down that ole 66 one morning about 2 am. Took him a long while but he did it. Great video.
Before you get to Cool Springs, was another gas station etc. called Fig Springs.
Was going to mention absence of burros just as you did. Have been there quite a few times while at Laughlin casinos. Have you driven the dirt road leaves 66 just east of Oatman and goes over toward Ft. Mojave?
We stopped there last week. Still had some small fish swimming around.

Heading towards oatman from I-40 one day as a Ford driver n there prototype vehicle I came up to a tortoise sitting right in the middle of the road probably 2-3 feet n diameter (big) so I stopped & put him on passenger seat and since I was coming back thru cuz I was doing a 107-A procedure where I went Davis dam & returned back the same way anyway I got back to same spot but I placed him about 50 ft from the road , I lived also n yucca AZ, b4 moving to lake Havasu

Just saw this video. I am building a house north of Kingman and love that area. I have been by there several times and did not realize the fish bowl was there until I saw this video. Very cool. That turnout you parked at usually has someone in a small RV camped in the little area right above it. Great view and free camping there too. You should check out KOFA (King of Arizona) Wilderness area south of Quartzsite. It would make great video with the natural tanks and wilderness, and you can camp right off King Rd (BLM dispersed camping area).
