London in years to come you will look back on this trip and cherish it more than you can imagine. I remember so many weekend road trips as a teenager and literally thinking how lame my parents were. However, most of my favorite memories are of those road trips and the neat things we did. Your dad is awesome to spend time with you this way. Thank you both for sharing a great video with the rest of us. I just love the desert and all the cool history and old abandon spots.
Watching these is just filling my heart with good memories from when I drove Route 66 back in 2018. I’m constantly pointing and going to my son “look that’s where we stayed! We ate there! Do you remember that place?” ❤❤
Un freaking believable! At the 38.55 mark you can see my truck! We have missed every other time you've been in town and again you were right there! DAMMIT!!!!!
Excellent report. I always learn so much from your videos. I especially like the aligning of past photos with the present. You are a valuable ‘forensic historian’. Anyway - am enjoying these, your energy and tireless enthusiasm towards a unique American treasure: Rte 66! Keep up the good work.
30:47 As a longtime Route 66 fan, this vintage photograph of Central Commercial Co in Seligman is 🏅 golden! (I’m also a collector of vintage, authentic images from Highway 66.) GREAT WORK, Justin!
This brings back memories. My wife and I bumped into you in Williams during our Southwest tour in 2017. We walked out of a store and there was a guy with a Randonland hat on. After a double take I saw that it was you. Safe travels!
“Happy Father’s Day”Justin. Hope you had a great day. Perfect time for a Father/Son roadtrip. Really enjoyed the video today. Safe travels and hope you both have fun on your adventure down Old Route 66.
You know what would be freaking crazy awesome!? If you (Justin) drew a map of the places you went and filmed off the side of the road and small towns and places. I loved those maps that were hand drawn kinda cartoony and not to porportion but super creative and fun to explore with your eyes and imagination. Wow! If you ever make a hand drawn map like this I will TOTALLY get one quicker than you can blink your eye!🤩🤩🤩
Glad London's not into the teen angst anymore. We hope that eventually he'll get into the sign off, but he does make a great straight man. Keep up the good work, both of you.
Happy Father's Day Justin!! Thank You for your adventures. My Wife and I are reliving our Route 66 trip that we did a few years ago, and thanks to you we enjoyed the places you are revisiting.
Love that you showed Williams! My family first moved there in 1935. We love going over there and walking around the stores on Rt 66. Love that my kids have been able to grow up so close to their AZ family roots :D
I imagine in a post apocalyptic world someone thinking they will eat big tonight having found three cans of burrow, and the disappointment of getting 3 stuffed animals instead 😕
Hey, absolutely love your videos from Disneyland Route 66 x 2 favorite places in the world. I started watching your videos about four years ago five years ago I end up taking my two girls on route 66 and I’ve watched a couple other videos but I kind of went off the path that you did, it is true. There is no time limit. Take your time and do what you want but I can say one thing I understand your channel, but there’s nothing better for all of us. Viewers is here a little bit from your son about the memories and the coolness that this is through his eyes , a lot of us have seen and heard and learned about the histories but we like to me and my daughters like to see what your son thinks through his eyes maybe let him talk a little bit on your channel about it. Just a simple suggestion. Thank you for making all these videos it really Has a lot of information for a lot of people that have not done it be safe and enjoy your journey and I pray that you make 1 million memories
Most young people look at it like, its my dad's thing. They aren't that interested and that goes for anything parents like. In time, he will come to appreciate his father's creativity, he's still thinking about his evolving life. Love this family.
My dad and i did route 66 in winter 2021, my favorite of all pur road trips and his as well. A memory we'll have until the end of our days. Your son is lucky
Its been many years since Ive been on a road trip, so Im really enjoying this one with you and London! Be safe, stay healthy, hydrated & happy!! On to the next video, my friend!!! 😎 👍👍
Wow what a cool video, I have an old porcelain sign in my office from the National old trails road that notes, Kingman, Peach Springs & Seligman. Great memories going out to Hackberry and riding that old 66 stretch it’s a special place!
I love it out there. Many fond memories and adventures out that way. Its crazy to see how much more deserted its become since I was there last though. There used to be a ranch just before Oatman that had chuckwagon and mining tours. That was the best place. ❤
Happy Father's Day Justin! Enjoy your time with your son. My Wife and I took a trip to Utah to reconnect with Mother Nature too. We'll be at Knott's Berry Farm and Disneyland soon...next month. Take care and God Bless.
Hope you had a great Father’s Day! Love these Route 66 vids. I still can’t believe I did that drive up to Oatman last year.. 😅😅 but it was well worth it and I give you all the credit for introducing us to its awesomeness 👏🏻 Williams is definitely high on my list to visit next 😊
I laughed when you said , "you didn't just use the toilet did you." London was like "I don't know this guy." BTW, props to the drone operator. I'm going to assume it was London. Great cinematography with your car driving down the road. Anyways keep creating.
I lived right outside of Ash Fork off the grid for about a year or so. My experience of Ash Fork was not pleasant like you show and we had to be warry of not very nice people (to say the least). Living out there off the grid our neighbors had a pet buffalo! That was cool. We had to drive to Williams to do our laundry. I liked Williams. It would be interesting to go back. And yes it would be amazing to revamp Ash Fork.
I’ll always remember going through Williams. We did the Grand Canyon train, and on the way back to Williams, we hit a cow! Must’ve dragged part of it back because there were chunks on the road crossing at Grand Canyon blvd 😳 goood times. 😯
Hey! There's been some cool new things added in Sapulpa, OK, most especially the reopened TeePee Drive Inn. And don't miss the new neon on 11th St in Tulsa, not surprisingly a lot of it is near Buck Atoms. And speaking of BA, on the 28th Stella Atoms will be joining Buck! (Would you look at the size of her Laser Gun!) Safe travels, loving the videos!!
37:23 It looks like the picture was taken from the northeast corner at the intersection. The white and green building has been replaced with the building that looks like a garage, and the white house with the black roof and brick chimney is an empty lot.
CLARK Gable got around lol..he stayed at Wolf Creek Inn here in Oregon...( also haunted supposedly) anyway..it's a cool place outside Grant's Pass. This was fun!!!❤
Thank you for visiting Ash Fork. 😊 In the old photo, at 34:37, take a look at the left side of the Harvey House, see the chimney? It still stands today. Edit: the Harvey House extends a bit in the photo, so look more left a bit.. I’d say it’s about 15 feet higher than the roof.
You mention it being hard to find Route 66 artifacts. Maybe you already know, but downstairs in the antique store (I can't remember the name) across the street from Station there is a huge collection of old postcards and Route 66 items. At least, there was a few weeks ago.
Is that pool on the way to Oatman the famous spring Madam Zeroni wanted to drink from? That donkey following you in Oatman, looks just like Eyeore the way he walks, lol
22:49 Amazing fact about Oatman. Imagine being on the run and getting a job Cooking and washing dishes and know that you have you have a shot that no one will check Oatman looking for you. then Bingo your found after you made rally good friends with a few Jackasses! LOL
I took the old rustic road up from Laughlin to Oatman, luckily with my all wheel drive vehicle. It turned into a twisty, curved dirt and rock road. I enjoyed it, but my passenger hated it. Of course I enjoyed spending a couple hours in Oatman and he hated it. We took the more modern road down to Fort Mohave. The Burros will block the road on your way out of town and come up to your car for food as if you’re being held hostage, haha. I thought it was a wonderful 1/2 day trip from staying in Laughlin Nevada.
Aww....that Misty looks quite a bit like my dear, departed Misty, who was "mine" from a few days after she was born, in 1993, until the day she passed on to the next life in my arms 18 1/2 years later in 2011. 😿
I posted this on Justin’s Amboy video, the first in this current father/son Route 66 series but for some reason, it sits there alone on the mobile version of RUclips. Anyway, I wanted to get the message to Mr. Willits so here it is again: The quality of the research, the professionalism of the presentation, attention to detail and the passion of the narration in general is why, in my estimation, Justin Willits is the standard bearer of these road trip/back road/Route 66 videos. To me, no one comes close. My brother and I made the trip from Chicago to LA in 2017 as well and it was glorious. I hope this journey with your young son is as fruitful and wonderful for you as it was for us. God bless you and your family.
London is super lucky to have a dad like you!
Thanks for risking it to show us the Fishbowl!!!!!!!
🎉🎉 father and son road trip for the win 🎉🎉

That sucks, I love running into my RUclipsrs.

30:47 As a longtime Route 66 fan, this vintage photograph of Central Commercial Co in Seligman is 🏅 golden! (I’m also a collector of vintage, authentic images from Highway 66.) GREAT WORK, Justin!
We love your book. Well done. Go home and " sleep well"❤
Happy Father’s Day, Justin!!

Happy Fathers Day Justin. So nice to see you and your son exploring the great American highway. Travel safe and have fun.
Love the way you go Walter Brennan when you say “old west”.

Happy Father's Day. Love the Rt 66 videos. Your son is very handsome.
Great video as always! I was just in Cool Springs and took the Oatman road about three months ago! It was great!
Great video. Happy Fathers Day.
Glad London's not into the teen angst anymore. We hope that eventually he'll get into the sign off, but he does make a great straight man. Keep up the good work, both of you.
I LOVED THIS VIDEO SHOUTOUT U AND LONDON!!
Can't wait to see this!!! I have never seen Cool Springs open.
This trip is going to be epic! 🫶🏻

On to the next video, my friend!!! 😎
👍👍
London reminds me so much of my nephew of the same age. Give him a couple more years and he will come out of his shell a bit more. Great video!
Was bummed that I had to work today. I saw this before work, and it lifted me up. I love the open road. Happy Father's Day!
London is awesome!
Homeboy is going through it......."Hang in there brother!"
Cool vid man... father and son trip is always good to see... God to you guys.
Wow what a cool video, I have an old porcelain sign in my office from the National old trails road that notes, Kingman, Peach Springs & Seligman. Great memories going out to Hackberry and riding that old 66 stretch it’s a special place!
Happy Father's Day!
Very cool video. Thank you!!
I was just in Kingman & Oatman last year. It was cool to see your take on it. Thanks!

Happy Father's Day Justin!
I love it out there. Many fond memories and adventures out that way. Its crazy to see how much more deserted its become since I was there last though. There used to be a ranch just before Oatman that had chuckwagon and mining tours. That was the best place. ❤
London is all grown up. 😭 I still remember your first video at WDW, where he was on a bunk bed at Animal Kingdom

Great Video Justin
Happy Fathers Day! Will you be covering the 100th Burning of Zozobra in Santa Fe this year?!
Great video just just love these cute donkeys
Happy Father's Day! (I'm a big fan of Williams, too.)
My favorite drive!
Cool
Olive Oatman was actually saved by the Aha Macav (Mojaves) from another tribe
and became one of them 👍
Need to take dad to have an Oatman Root beer Float, one of the best.
37:16 Sweet Tarts Rope Bites......my man! 😛
Got my kicks in flagstaff travel safely you guys
Poor London, he has to put up with your craziness lol
Londom done growed up. Seems like he was just 8 yrs old last week at WDW. Happy Father's Day.
What's that? Is that London calling? Whoa mule. Whoa!
I just now realized that ending quote is from the movie The Untouchables!
I laughed when you said , "you didn't just use the toilet did you." London was like "I don't know this guy." BTW, props to the drone operator. I'm going to assume it was London. Great cinematography with your car driving down the road. Anyways keep creating.
Oatman is awesome. Hey, if you have enough footage left over, make another video with that and call it the "B Roll".
Born in Kingman 75 raised in Bullhead lots of water in the desert just got to know where to look
Next time through there pick up a couple of them railroad spikes and let me know I'll buy em up. 😉
Thanks for sharing your adventure with your son.

GREAT DRONE SHOT AT THE END!!🙌 was London flying the drone while you drove or do you have a fancy one with the “follow me” feature? 😎
Love the burros.
CLARK Gable got around lol..he stayed at Wolf Creek Inn here in Oregon...( also haunted supposedly) anyway..it's a cool place outside Grant's Pass.
This was fun!!!❤
i found the fish pond there since i drove that section at night and there was a light up there, weeird
Thank you for visiting Ash Fork. 😊
In the old photo, at 34:37, take a look at the left side of the Harvey House, see the chimney? It still stands today.
Edit: the Harvey House extends a bit in the photo, so look more left a bit.. I’d say it’s about 15 feet higher than the roof.
We stopped took pics of Hi-line and had a couple beers in the Oasis in 2022 :-)
Someone buy that kid a SMILE. Geesh....
Your sign was there six months ago when I was there
Not sure but the Oatman Hotel may be ADA exempt because of its age and historic significance. But fire code compliance could be an issue.
Happy Father's Day, Justin. Where's your Mustang and the van? I haven't seen them in a while?
You mention it being hard to find Route 66 artifacts. Maybe you already know, but downstairs in the antique store (I can't remember the name) across the street from Station there is a huge collection of old postcards and Route 66 items. At least, there was a few weeks ago.

😂 London wondering why you wanted a file📁. I hope you are enjoying each others company. I know you'll treasure this time and I reckon London will too.
22:49 Amazing fact about Oatman. Imagine being on the run and getting a job Cooking and washing dishes and know that you have you have a shot that no one will check Oatman looking for you. then Bingo your found after you made rally good friends with a few Jackasses! LOL
Not the bees!!😂
There was a big fire in ash fork years ago that burned many houses and buildings.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY AND ALSO GO TO THE POOZEUM IN WILLIAMS ME AND MY FAMILY WERE THERE 2 DAYS BEFORE YOU JUSTIN!!!?
Get your kicks on route 66
Hey Pop! In 20 years he'll wish he'd been more enthusiastic.

London’s gotten so handsome 🥰
Come theough Bisbee for the 4th
Poor London hoping no girls see him with his crazy dad..lol.
We are doing this part next year. Can you give advice on how to get to 66 from Santa Monica so we don't miss anything?
Ps - Happy Father's Day Sir.
How do these small towns get water being in middle of nowhere
Aww....that Misty looks quite a bit like my dear, departed Misty, who was "mine" from a few days after she was born, in 1993, until the day she passed on to the next life in my arms 18 1/2 years later in 2011.
