To enjoy another original with Kirstie as one of the writers, check out “Be My Eyes”. When you react to it, pay close attention to Mitch’s background vocals in the second have of the song. Absolutely incredible!! Also, the “ohs” you were referring to in this one are called bell tones because they resemble a…bell. Go figure! Pentatonic does bell tones better than anyone I’ve ever heard! Breathtaking! I absolutely LOVE your reactions. You’re doing a fabulous job. Thank you!
I’ll add another original to the list. Run To You co-written by Avi and Kevin. It’s one of my( many lol) favorites. Thank you for an energetic reaction, Travis. ☮️
I'm not only a pentaholic, I've become TravisAddicted as well! Love watching you react! If you haven't reacted to their New Rules/Are you that Somebody you should. It'll knock your socks off!
Scott’s range is insane and don’t get me started on those riffs. Since you liked this one and Sing so much, I think you’d also really like Happy Now. It’s an underrated original and it’s a banger. Also, the costuming/make up is on point.
There was no official video of the studio version of this song. This was a "live in the studio" recording for one of the TV talk shows. The version of the video that appeared on the show just featured the five of them singing at the mics. The "jumping around" edits were added later, and this became the official video for the song. This version is a slightly simplified arrangement of the studio version. This song was written primarily by Kirstie, with some help from the album's co-producers. Another example of the often personal, soul-baring lyrics that Kirstie writes for many of her songs.
Great reaction! They don’t get enough recognition for their original songs. So many amazing songs that should really be on the radio. I’m glad you’re appreciating them.
There's nothing wrong with feeling like each song you hear is your favorite. I think we all feel that way at times. There's not one PTX song that I don't love; even their covers of songs when I don't like the originals are amazing.
Fire! So many reactors expect a slow song when they read the title of the song. Then it comes in strong and they are surprised! It has an amazing message to it! So happy you reacted to this one! Thank you!
The first time I heard this I though that this is the story of the friendship between Scott, Kirsten and Mitch. They have been there for each other since they were kids and I'm sure they've pulled each other off the ledge a few times. It's good to know you have friends you can count on.
Their original music is all gorgeous! Their first original album, even when they were still really young, is a masterpiece. They are all such creative geniuses. And now that they have grown up, literally & musically, their collective talents are unmatched. I continue to be blown away by these people!!! XO💜
Kirstin wrote the lyrics for this. Scott interviewed her for his podcast with Rossi and they talked about how many of the songs for "Lucky Ones" she wrote. She was starring in "Kinky Boots" and he said every song she sent to them, he went "That is going on the album." She talked about writing "Exit Signs" too. Scott and Rossi also interviewed Kevin last year. The podcast is called "Ugh, You Are So Good". I first listened to hear Kevin but now I have gone through and listened to most of them. They interview tons of people from all different fields.
Yay! Thank you, thank you, for doing this, I won't have to beg anymore 😊. I love the song so much, from the upbeat Melody to the meaningful words of the song. I was watching for your facial expressions when Scott came in because I knew you would love it.😉 Thanks again Travis, you're awesome! 💙
It is an original penned, in part, by Kirstie which is why she basically leads this performance. Another one of hers this is really different for them is Be My Eyes. In her compositions it seems she really uses her bandmates well. The message of this song is so on point for our times. I can't remember if you've reviewed My Favorite Things where Kirstie basically become Julie Andrews!
Love it SO MUCH and always love your enthusiasm for all of them!! 💙 I get so excited when I see you’ve posted another PTX or Superfruit, glad to see you’re doing so many! Also loved your reaction to Scott surprise coming in, it gets me every time too!
Thank you for another great PTX reaction, keep 'em coming. I love their originals as well they are such talented songwriters. I dont understand why their songs dont get played on the radio. I hope you're able to make it to 1 of their new Christmas tour dates. Im so happy for all those that are able to go and experience their amazingness in person.
Love your videos, Travis! Some songs I think you would really like are Run to you it is one of their originals. La La Latch, I think you would get a kick out of it. some others would be Can't hold us now, Shallow, Sing. And some that don't get a lot of reactions but really deserve it. Perfect, Cheerleader , Rather Be, Save the World/Don't You Worry Child. Keep up the great reactions!
This is definitely original. It's from the album they released back in February (The Lucky Ones) which was all original. They recently released a deluxe version of the album that contained four additional tracks. I love their original music as well, because not only is it beautiful and well-written, but it really gives you insight into the group.
I highly recommend you react to their cover of John Legends "Imagine" and their cover of "Mad World". Both are incredible but so is everything they do!
Travis! At this point I think you just need to to do an album review of the Lucky Ones so that you can listen to it on repeat like we all do! These originals are absolute 🔥and some of the best ones don't have videos!
You are Stunting, I love your reactions. I'm so envious of you being able.to go see there Xmas tour. I haven't been able to get tickets, but I guess I will live precariously though you🥰keep up the Fabulous work.💚🌿
Love your reactions. You've definetly become my favorite reactor on RUclips. I still really want to see you react to Run To You. I think you'll love it.
I love this one and Havana! Their Marvin Gay is amazing. It was on the sing off along with Florence and Machine. Be My Eyes is one of theirs I love, love, love.
Yes, it’s original and it was live. I love that you repeated the ending. They end perfectly tight on9 one note. That’s hard to do live. Thanks Travis. Remember My Favorite Things. Christmas is coming so when you start diving in please go back to one of their 1st videos for Carol the Bells. Mitch doesn’t breathe. It’s insanely good & a cool vocal arrangement for a song with lots of instrumental parts. Thanks again Travis ✌️💚
I'm happy that you are enjoying their original music. Kirstie writes/co-writes very catchy songs. I look forward to you hearing "Cracked", "Natural Disaster", "Water", "New Year's Day" and many others from their first originals album. There are live performances of them; no official videos. The Popspring video has 3 original songs and "Evolution Of Michael Jackson" medley. They have lots of amazing originals, old and new.
Kirsten wrote this one and Be My Eyes (which borrows from Oronoco Flow.) And that does have an actual video. She said both songs are very personal to her.
While the arrangement and harmonies are beautiful; the lyrics are deeply touching. The unconditional love being given to the person who doesn't always loves themselves is so beautiful. The person loving them when the other person is at their worst; is a true friend indeed. The lyrics bring tears to my eyes.
I was hoping you'd do this one. It's so good. Be My Eyes is another great one by Kirstie. An older original by Kevin and Avi is Run to You but it will definitely get you in the feels! It's stunning with no percussion, just 5 gorgeous voices. Thanks for another great reaction Travis.
While I love Avi and he brought a different flare to them, I love Matt. It’s so warm and he always looks like he’s having a great time. I saw a video with Matt and Kevin. The video was so amazing. Matt also raps and beat boxes.

One of their best original songs! Love the upbeat tempo and feel with the amazing harmonies as a bonus.
