Im glad you reconsidered this kit. Before I bought two of the Takom kits, I had bought a couple of resin kits of this model made well before this Takom kit made by a well known resin kit and plastic maker from the Emerald Island, and THAT was terribly hard because I had to deal with warped parts as well as fill holes and due to poor resin pouring at the time of production, I had to get rid of excess resin and resculpt parts that then left gaps that had to be filled. It put me off kits by that company forever. With quality control that must have been totally absent it is too much risk. However their radio sets are still better than anything else on the market, and yet I am glad that I bought a supply of those before being turned off permanently.
What I noticed before you made this video is that the EXCELLENT French company BLAST has come out with a lot of canvas, new seats and other goodies for the kit, as well as another company and I decided that since they had obviously built the kit in order to make their after market kits is that You must have been a bit too hard on the kit. Therefore I reconsidered and bought the very nice Blast Model after market kits and my Takoms came back off the shelf and into the upcoming builds. So I am glad you made this video to save your Butt! I note that after all your trouble, the build looks great as does the painting. Good work. As for me, no matter the problems, it won't be anything like that resin kit.

After all the issues during the build, you´ve really made a great little model out of that kit with the winter camo and the weathering! To touch on painting winter camo using white inks: Making a saturated and nicely covering coat as seen here might be very tedious, but I have this idea the the lower coverage-properties from those inks might come in really handy for a more "spotty" white-wash were translucency is a key feature. Combining several layers of ink with some hairspray and some rendering with thin white acrylics might give some really interesting results...
Anyhow, keep up the work and have a great week 👍

We all get hit by the lazy painter bug. And that usually happens after A complicated build. The Weasel looks just perfect with A nice balance of paint, storage and weathering. And thanks for the tip on applying the snow. 🤗

Personally, I think this is a very successful vehicle, especially the camouflage is very nicely done, you used the sponge to create the mud effect and it is first made wet/damp.

Nah,I wouldn’t say it isn’t a good kit, honestly as with most Takom kits,Like the Hetzer it is actually pretty nice, just I was a bit too ambitous originally when making it,and I just had to leave it,and it has been sitting their haunting me for about 9 months now, maybe time to do something about it as the holidays have began!I really recommend any of their M60s,very solid kits, and great fun, especially with all the ERA.

I had forgotten you started this project. I am glad you found the strength and desire to finish the project. It is a great paint job and has turned out to be a nice little vehicle. It is an iconic vehicle, but is no Tiger, Panther, Sherman, T-34, Etc... and I think that is the big problem. Throw on top construction issues and you have small intrest in the subject. Don't get me wrong, it is a unique vehicle, but there is so much out there right now and more to come, that the market is a bit crowded. I mean, I'm building the Bilbao armored car and I bet most don't know what it is. It is what it is. Anyway, great build. Happy modeling!!

Amazing result! For the textured pastes I usually just add a few drops of water to the pot every time I open them, it seems to prevent the paints from drying out.

Never, ever, ever, give one moment of f*ck to someone who is criticizing your modeling skill. All that means is they have no self-esteem in their own abilities and are trying to reflect their pathetic inadequacies on you. Modeling is a journey and I enjoy all skill levels that have the guts to put it out there and try and help others in our hobby. Thank you for all you do. -Rob

Hi Clayton! The little Weasel looks great. The addition of stowage and a couple of tarps makes a big difference. Also the unique camo, and the very lightly applied winter paint and the weathering, makes the model stand out. I remember your build video of this vehicle, and the frustration associated with it, but you have turned the Weasel into a stunning model in spite of this. Makes me think about revisiting my own ‘Shelf of Doom’ to see what I can revisit. Great job mate, and cheers for now!

      @@workbenchhobbies4316 -
      Hi Clayton.
My own ‘Shelf of Doom’ has a couple of projects that reside there. One is a Tiger 1 from Tamiya, and the other is Panzer IV ‘B’, also by Tamiya. I built these when I first started back into modelling a couple of years ago, and while I don’t really have a problem with the build of either of these kits, I made a total mess of both the paint job, and weathering, on both. It was my first experience using the air-brush, and as a consequence, the paint is patchy, and the camo scheme on the Tiger is an absolute mess. The painting of the Panzer IV is not too bad, but I have ruined the look of the model with over-weathering I think. I have wanted to drag them off the shelf many times, to see if they can be resurrected now that I have a little more experience, but there is always another kit that takes priority. I will however give it a go, and I have some ideas that may just get them off the shelf and into the display cabinet. I will let you know the results. Cheers for now mate!
