Captain freaking Levi. Can we all just appreciate the role this man played from beginning to end? He grew up in a slum filled underground, stealing and trying to survive. Lost his mother at an early age, but was eventually acknowledged and mentored by both his long lost uncle and his soon to be commander. He was given a chance to make a difference in the world, take on titans and fight for humanity. From that point forward, he has lost friend after friend after friend but still kept his cool due to his position and what was at stake. He had been hurting inside for so long but he still kept fighting. He still kept moving forward. And even when all was said and done, even when he had to help take the life of a young man who he probably saw himself in, he had finally reached a point where he could rest and be content with the fact that he gave his heart for humanity. This story was just as much as about Levi as it was about the Shinganshina trio. Long live the strongest soldier.
But they shouldn't have nerfed him Imagine Levi in this episode fighting with his best ability Would have been the greatest episode after beast tirna fight.
Levi lost all his comrades. Despite him being the strongest of humanity, he is also one of the saddest. Rest In Peace all the brave soldiers who died on historical battlefields. Lest we forget. 🕯
Now he can grow old and die alone watching his country become more influenced from Erens ideologies as he becomes older and weaker. Pathetic ending for a character like him.
I actually like this part. Levi, the only surviving member of the scouts saw the ghosts of all his slain comrades, friends and even loved ones. Despite the fact the he is crippled after so many battles, Levi gave out one final salute to his comrades, telling them that their work is done and they can finally rest now.
I agree, and I like to think they were saluting him back as a way of telling him that his work is done and he can rest as well. 😭I think Levi cries out of a mixture of happiness they won, relief that it's over, and grief for his fallen comrades. Only thing that disappoints me about this scene is Isabel and Furlan aren't there saluting and saying goodbye too.
Levi managed to carry the hopes and dreams of every dead scout with him into a world free of titans, just like they all dreamed. This is one of the most satisfying conclusions to a character I have seen, truly amazing writing.
@t-ro6176 That's still a better alternative than genocide. Remember, the survey corps' goal wasn't to defend Paradis Island from the rest of the world, but to defend all of humanity from the titans. That's what all those soldiers gave their lives for in seasons 1-3.
@@baconian_road_construction na it’s definitely meant to protect threats against paradise. 0:21 You can see it zooms into hanges arm (she’s the only one with a white sleeve) I think it’s them showing how whenever Levi placed his hand over her heart instead of his own when he said dedicate your heart it’s Hange placing her hand over her heart giving her heart to him or whatever (why would it zoom onto hanges arm if it had no hidden meaning?) also in the manga Erwin wasn’t in the center it was Hange in the middle but in this scene they did zoom Levi’s focus to Hange in the middle which is nice..!
Thank you AOT. Incredible story, from episode 1 season 1 till the end. Years of greatest that I'm glad I can say I WATCHED! One of my favs of all time!

To me personally, this part get me the most. Like Levi said this is the end where they TRUELY give their heart to without the know the truth. Only fight for the humanity till the very end
I've never been emotional over sad scenes in movies/tv shows, AOT is no exception that is until this scene shows up where I finally shed a tear and the tear just kept falling. Levi has been through so much and it's good he finally fulfilled his promise and can finally retire and rest. Oh, I forgot about the crackhead trio reunion ( I missed Sasha so much) I didn't cry over her death unfortunately because I know she'll die, yet after seeing that scene of jean and connie seeing her even though I read that scene from the manga, I freaking bawlled like a fountain. I think for me their bittersweet reunion is more painful than sasha's death ( don't come at me pls).

The Scouts could've visited anyone before they passed on to whatever lies beyond the paths, but instead they came back to give their comrade one last salute for completing their mission😭
It’s really subtle and poignant that the Survey Corps through their shared experiences and camaraderie have formed their exclusive landscape woven from the Paths. The name given to said landscape is not utopia. But if their world had a shape it would look like the Wings of Freedom.
You know, this is why I love Levi so much. He has a very rough exterior but he kept fighting because of those who fell for the cause. That's a remarkable character right there.
I see this as a last parting gift from eren. He made Hange see her comrades prior to her death and made the rest see their dead comrades prior to his own death.

I mean most of the others there are also scouts
@@laserbeamlightningYes, but he means the past generation of scouts
He’s celebrating with the people who murdered them lol
I agree, and I like to think they were saluting him back as a way of telling him that his work is done and he can rest as well. 😭I think Levi cries out of a mixture of happiness they won, relief that it's over, and grief for his fallen comrades. Only thing that disappoints me about this scene is Isabel and Furlan aren't there saluting and saying goodbye too.
Levi managed to carry the hopes and dreams of every dead scout with him into a world free of titans, just like they all dreamed. This is one of the most satisfying conclusions to a character I have seen, truly amazing writing.
Yea he accomplished their dream of riding the world of titans and making sure paradise is vulnerable when the world repopulates and attacks again
Those scouts who died in season 1-3 was to protect their families and friends from titans, they didn’t even know that humanity survived beyond the walls. Let me ask you a question since the were meant to protect ( all) of humanity. What was happened to paradise and the paradise side of the alliance if eren died by gabi’s shot.
@@t-ro6176 I'm Agreeing with you bro and the Answer to your question is simple it's that the Paradise Eldian side of the Alliance and the whole Paradise island would not make it alive to the end of the series

@@gamingbro9329 You genuinely haven't understand this story underlying message if you think that Paradis getting into a war a hundred years in the future means that it was all for nothing. I really felt it when he saw hanji there as well. She was probably the least one he expected to die? She was his last comrade with whom he started his journey with so he cherished her after losing everyone...the only two times he cried was when losing Furlan and Esabelle, his best friend and his 'sister' and the other time being now...when he lost everyone with whom he started off and spent half of his life with after furlan and esabelle.
