The aFe POWER Front Recovery Tow Hooks provide safe and secure front recovery points for the 22-23 Toyota Tundra. We drove to the snowy San Bernardino Mountains to show them in action.
The dual tow hooks bolt directly onto the frame using the front sway bar mounts with no drilling or modifications. They retain front sway bar use while clearing the Active Aero Front Spoiler and factory bumper. Full disclosure: We have an aftermarket Fab Fours Bumper installed on this 2022 Tundra.
Installation video shows the Front Tow Hooks being installed with the factory bumper and Active Aero Front Spoiler in-tact.

Not sold yet, show us a video with stock bumper doing the same thing
/agree
100% agree, that was my point of interest when it was introduced earlier last year. What is the likelihood of damaging the stock bumper during recovery.
Likelihood of damage is high
I'm super worried about the OEM airdam interfering with these. Please try this video again AFE with stock stuff. Not all of us are dropping thousands on our bumpers.
Awesome video. The blue hooks look rad
Great video! Thank you for running the Vengeance Series front bumper on the Tundra build - Lookin' good! Now that Ranger rear bumper.... ouch, not a Fab Fours.
Have these actually been tortured tested? The ranger bumper got wrecked but at least in this video the tundra appeared to do most of the work getting out. I want to see you get the truck absolutely mired, then dead pull it out with something capable enough to yank it out. Then I’ll believe these are worth while. The sway bar bracket mounting brackets are absolutely sketchy as well, that’s a lot of leverage on that point.
I just installed the red ones yesterday. Thanks for stepping up and helping us 3rd gen Tundra owners.
How long was this install, looks pretty quick and easy?
Put these on my 22 Tundra, they looked great and worked very well used them once. Easy to put on but the front bolt goes on first then the second.
Just got my new to me 2022 Tundra would love to install some of your accessories. Cold air intake. Love to make some videos of these installs.
Whoever was supervising the new Tundra project had no clue why people are buying trucks and what trucks are used for first place. What else they might have overlooked! Good patch job Toyota.
how well does the blue match the hybrid blue in the logo on the i-force max??
will this work on the 23 Sequoia TRD pro?
At least they appear to be stronger than a Ford Ranger bumper. I think the limiting factor may be the two 17mm bolts that hold them on.
What is the capacity rating?
With an aftermarket bumper like that of course it wouldn't be a problem... What about with the stock bumper?
I bought them and installed them but that's the thing I'm worried about
Totally agree this is useless video. That bumper has a completely different departure angle.
I want a see those in action on a regular tundra, not lifted with stock bumper.
@@MrTgrasshopper I uploaded a video on my channel showing these hooks in action
@@mangogainz7046 do you have the link?

Not a good angle to assess any possible damage
army green color. would be nice
Will these still work if I have the Icon Stage 4 lift with the sway bar drop brackets?
The tow hooks have not been tested with any aftermarket sway bar drop brackets but will look into it. Stay tuned.
What’s the brand for that bumper? I like it with those hooks.
Fab Fours! You can see our full build with links for this Tundra on our blog post blog.afepower.com/what-happened-at-afe-power-booth-at-sema-2022/
stock bumper + aerodam are damaged with these tow hooks... tow strap binds it.
If I can't get out of that much snow I'm going to have trade my truck in
So sad they had to design aftermarket tow hooks for this think. 2nd gen for the win

Port wittle baby
I seriously question and doubt the integrity of this product. The tow hook is angled downwards so when there is a pull the force is upwards. The hook is really just held on my a few dinky looking welds. I could easily imagine a situation if there was a hard pull that it would just shear the hook off and be a serious projectile. Most rated recovery points are in-line with the frame and milled out of one piece steel or aluminum but this is welded. I wouldn't trust it.
What is the pull rating on it?
Can you put a front tow hitch receiver?
Will they work on 2024 Tundra?
Yes
No way this clears a on a stock set up. Holding it with your hand at one angle shows nothing. Put it on a stock truck stick it and pull it out. Watch it tear up the front end unless by some case you are able to keep that tow rope lower on the pull truck.
Sorry, but do not agree. Lot of factors to consider here. I have a pair of these and it rubs the air dam, to the point of where if you pulled with kinetic line, it will definitely scrape the air dam. The tow vehicle (if higher) also comes into play with kinetic jerk. Hopefully, you have a soft shackle too or that will be add'l damage. The OEM bumper is default approach angle, not like your bumper (high). (I know you said this, but it's relevant for stock Tundra owners). Your wheels are bigger as well, and not 20 or 18, like stock (depending on trim). Overall, it's a great after-market option, but just be aware of this, going into purchase of these. This is not demo'd in this video. I really wish it was. -From SoCal
This is the lamest test video I've ever seen. I wanted to see how tough these were and how well they cleared the bumper. You guys demonstrated neither.
You had to tow out with a ford huh lol!
