      ST/CF as Ronaldo and Rashford
CAM/Inside WF as Bruno and Sancho
      CM/CDM as Fred and Mctominay
Telles and Dalot are quick and more solid attacking and defending. Lindelof and Varane will be perfect for United.🥳

I am so amazed Ralf Rangnick changed Man Utd SO MUCH in just one training session.
Shows that great coaching goes a long way when there is A CLEAR PICTURE of how you want to play your football. Just feels so awesome. With or without the ball, there are so many "traps" created that is the hallmark of Ralf Rangnick's style. People talk about gegenpressing. But simply explained, he just creates as many traps as possible whether it's to win the ball back or to lure opposition away from the spaces you want to attack.

    • @hmst2434

They are trying to learn to play in a completely different system and tempo tbf. Rangnick wants his team to win possession back within 8 seconds and to score a goal within 10 seconds. Miss placed passes into the final third are preferred over players holding the ball for too long or going sideways and slowing the tempo down. The gengenpress should give them possession back rather quickly anyway.

United looked to open the play through long balls from his own defense and midfield lines too. Ralf's playing style in Leipzig also did have this strategy when the opponent was pressing or closing the midfield and United was close to score a goal like this with Ronaldo passing Fernandez with his head. Also you should have mentioned the tactical change of palace in the second half . They looked too press more , and using the space behind United's FB . Also you didn't mention the reason why Fred was more comfortable on the ball and how his role changed in the second half, he literally became another attacking midfielder and helped United in attack while MC was the only DMF in the back.

Excellent analysis. United’s tactics against Crystal Palace are similar to Klopp’s Liverpool 4 seasons ago.The full gengenpress would be initiated for 30 minutes till their energy levels depleted.Liverpool would dominate and be in full control , typically 2-0 at this stage with the game already won.The second half would taper off, but the points were already secured.Klopp’s methods improved on this tactic as he got better players. Ralf Rangrick will now buy or coach players to satisfy this all embracing control tactic of gengenpress.I think the medium term prospects of United have now suddenly improved massively.I don’t think Ole fully understood the tactic of group pressing the ball as a unit…which retarded United’s progress.

Removing second class defensive players (left wing back and right wing back) is a smart move. It is not disrespect by disregard the England national players on England soil. What's matter is the result of collective defensive duties. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is just afraid of doing so. The team will be better if Maguire is not playing; Leicester City made the right decision to sell him and stripping off England National team captaincy show Maguire's standard is dropping. His presence is only because his body mass is taking advantage in English Premier League style of play. On top of that his pace exposed his shortcoming.

see this is how tactics matter which ole lacked it looks too simple on the match but behind the back way more thinking and preparation is required...for any game and united playing so good from single training session shows that we could do a lot better on further matches..

Overall it was a good performance by Manchester United yesterday... we dominated possession which we lacked during Ole's time... 62% is great, in Ole's time we got the possession between 35% to 45%... pressings made by Man Utd players yesterday was absolute class... Rashford needs to improve on shielding the ball as he got dispossessed inside the box many times... apart from very few miss-passes yesterday we dominated the full game... I was hoping for a score of 3-0 or 4-1 because our GD is not enough... GGMU

Let him sign it, let him write whatever numbers he wants to put on there, given what he's done since he's come in. RANGNICK'S (Ole 3.0) at the wheel, man. He's doing it. He's doing his thing. It's amazed me that Ronaldo also do a pressing.... And quite good also. The mystery that where Ronaldo can't fit to rangnick formation already answered. Overalls this type of formation winnable against outside 6 premier league teams. They need to polish and I believe top 4 target is possible. Ggmu
