America's Black Holocaust Museum documents decades of legitimate oppression kept alive in this country long after slaves were freed. The site is under renovation and expected to open this year.

Yes you are correct, that is why they don’t want to teach it, because of how it was done, and it’s horrific nature. This can never be untold like it has been in the past. The rose colored glass effect has always made us feel that we just have to move on from Slavery like it never happened. And in some History Books the word Slavery was changed to Involuntary Immigrants, to make it less horrible. In order for us to move forward to a better future, we must honor our past and atone for the mistakes we made, and acknowledge the fact that this happened from 1619 and beyond. This isn’t some Black History Month factoid, this is American History, plain and simple.

So I'm confused. so is this museum about black history as a whole? or how they were enslaved by Europeans who were not American? or one single event in America itself? this is quite confusing because my god this museum just is all over the place. because when you think of a holocaust you are talking about one point in history where many suffered greatly in a short time frame aka the Jewish folks who also had blacks die there also. But not the whole history about them.
