If you've ever fished the Deschutes you'd understand the use of 2-handers. Its one danged big river.

In 1980 4 of us from Idaho spent 3 days on the Deschutes in October an had an incredible time. We waded only no boats and fished the greased line method. Our flied swung in the surface film and the hatchery and wild fish from 3 to 6 lbs would come up and take them. Those were some strong fish, and would you believe I have never made it back. Shame On Me!!!

Had to chuckle. Up to about a decade ago my buddy used to own the ranch on the run you fished above white horse rapids. On the Deschutes the owners of the banks own the ground under the river. Long ago the Attorney General of Oregon took a cold swim for fishing my friend's run. Happy you guys had a good DRY day!

Not true at all. In Oregon there is public access up to the high water mark on navigable waters.

@@braapbraaap5281 You might want to educate yourself on Oregon law of non navigable rivers.

@@gormanpn The Deschutes is not classified as navigable. Go review the law.

Kelly prefers 200 to 350 grain, 20 ft. shooting head. He was fishing a set of streamer lines he designed fro Scientific Anglers. He now uses streamer lines he designed for Airflo, new one is called Streamer Max Shovelhead. Rob prefers a T11 or T13 shooting head on his spey gear.
