Interesting read. Fundamentally, I don’t agree with it at all, but I think it’s an interesting read nonetheless. Out of curiosity, what is your type? Even when you study “real psychology” there’s always going to be branches in theory and deviations from the original. It’s an evolving science and if we didn’t have people like Skinner (who maybe went too far in the other direction) we’d all still be treating things like Freud did. No one can “prove” you wrong because there’s almost nothing testable to be proven wrong. It just is. Either way, my take: Functions are every bit MBTI as the letters themselves. And while yes, it is a good idea to look at where things came from, there’s no need to treat it as the end-all-be-all. Could you imagine any other field completely and blindly sticking to stats and theories that are decades old at this point? You’d think it absurd. Why should MBTI be any different? Anyway, that’s just my Ni-Fe-Ti-Se (😉) opinion on the matter.
@@sunchips18 No one is saying that things shouldn't advance. But too many folks try to sound authoritative and like they have the "Real" interpretation of things when they've really branched-off and are promoting their own system.
@@dabbler1166 I suppose I can see the idea, but I just don’t see the point in even getting tied up in it.
