I love the aqua clear more. My top fin was not put in the aquarium properly and it fell on the floor and broke down. I’m so sad 😞

You don't have to use the cartridges on the top fin 😃 I've used reusable media in them for years with wonderful results and less money

I have a Top Fin, (2) Aqueon QuietFlows and (2) Tidal 55's. I have hot rod all of them with prefilters on the flow in takes and I use my own filter media not the filter cartridges. The Top Fin works as good and is quieter than the Aqueon's QuietFlow and the cost is a whole lot better than the Tidal 55.

I've also tried both, used top fin for a long time, now using aqua clear and so far I'm liking it a lot. But we lost power a couple of times since living here due to weather and (yes I have an emergency airator) it would not start back up so going to have to invest in a small pump to route water back into filter in case I'm not here when that happens. Any suggestions?

I’m not sure if you ever tried aqueous hob filter. They automatically prime them selfs in case there is ever a power outage. I used to have them and they’d saved me a lot. I can do a video about it if you are interested?

I have a Top Fin 75 Silenstream filter with my 55 gallon tank and it's become a extreme pain in the rear! I have to constantly change the cartridges almost every day, which I feel is way more often than necessary, and I'm feeling like I'm throwing my money away. I'm considering replacing it with a Tetra Whisper EX 70 filter. Would you reccomend that, or what would be the best filter in your opinion?

My Aquaclear 110 is still running strong after 3 years of use. I change my carbon bag once every 2 months.

Throw sponges and bio media in the filter instead of those garbage inserts. You'll be happy that you did.

I ended up switching out my Top Fin for a Marineland one with the bio wheels and now I use custom filter media to save money
