The first time i saw Rose i thought "This baby's head is so big", when it said that her head is inside this flask i thought "That's impossible" i was shocked not because of her being beheaded, but by the fact that her head could fit into this flask.

@@JJ-M If I'm being honest, the Japanese acting for Village didn't impress me. Perhaps its just all the anime I've watched but they all sounded like performances I heard before with nothing really new to add. I'd like to attribute it to my preference for dub but I watch sub too so Village to me just lacked that bit of charm and uniqueness in the Japanese voice over that the english voice over had. Or more simply like you said, the Duke is the Duke and I don't really get that from his Japanese voice
@@Soulferno as a sub anime watcher, I completely agree with this. The jp va is good and contain their own uniqueness but for this game the eng va makes more... "sense"(?) idk how to describe it.
Edit : also, the translation is not exactly direct in this game, the eng and jp voice package has some different lines than what the subtitle says if you play diff language for the voice and subs

@@levinstrategist Likely the latter. In the JP version of 7 the deputy's head is still intact from the shovel too, And the snake key is found near The intact corpse instead of ethan sticking his hand down the neck. Gore and decapitations are a big No-No overseas.

Well he IS a mold.
The "alcohol" was believed to be what made he's limbs become reattached not that he made them do so which in reality is what happened (actually every damage or cut or bruise he sustained was healed by the mold regeneration and not the meds. "healing" is just a mechanic for the game). He doesn't come to terms with being a mold till the end of the game. Which is why he believes he needed meds or that alcohol in the first place.

To be honest, Botan should play as Hunk. That will fit her perfectly. I usually watch her gameplay but not this time with RE tbh. Her fearless is amazing but....it’s more interesting seeing she squeals. It’s a horror game after all.

RE8 has such a good quality narrative.
Only for the titan that is Lady Dimitrescu to obliterate any sliver of plot and seriousness with her respectable stature and overwhelming power.
The opposite I would say.
It has a lot of good ideas but they are presented in a very videogame-y narrative that become silly plot devices just to advance the plot, if you think about it, like this scene "Your kid's head is now in a jar, but go to that house with the red chimney to know more. Now off you go."

It's a very straightforward and simple story when you get down to it, but the presentation is nice.
I was honestly somewhat disappointed by the story. I went into this game hearing that everyone loved it, but it is far too short, very predictable, and I expected Miranda's motivation to be much better. Really, the only part of the story that shocked me is that they actually revealed ethan was a mold person and had him die. The story is good, but not nearly as good as I expected for the praise I saw the game get
I still question the reality of a babies head fitting in a container of that size. It seems to be of the right height, but it doesn't look wide enough. You'd have to squish the head to make it fit......though a babies head is soft enough to do that.
Yeah, babies are super fragile, always uncomfortable holding one thats been recently born, feels like I can accidentally break something if I hold it wrong.

Both are good I think. Chafuurinn (JP) does excel at these kind of " friendly but creepy old man" roles but I will admit his delivery is a little one-note at least in this scene here.
I know this is suppose to be shocking and all...but I can't help but imagine Juzo Megure from Detective Conan saying these lines that The Duke is saying since the characters share the same voice actor.

Botan is quite entertaining in her own way. Although, it's a bit concerning that her reaction to a head of a baby in a flask is...sort of weak?

Japan has some terrible history about dismembering case.. well, almost everywhere in the world too I guess.
It's a stigma about butchers losing fingers in Japan. Other games with characters with less than 5 fingers are also censored in Japan. An example is Oddworld.

@@HimmelWeint you are partily correct. The Burakumin where heavily discriminated back in old feudal Japan. They where att the bottom of the social ladder and worked dangerous jobs that led to a lot of them losing fingers. Four fingers became synominous with low-class or bad people.
The Yakusa probably kept it going as it was brutal and would mark that individual for life. To keep the image that 4 fingered people where bad.
If you google it smarter people than I can tell you more about how this impacts Japan and it's pop-culture today.

Let’s start with Resident Evil 2 and 3 REmake. It is not shown but during the Raccoon City indent of the T-Virus outbreak, there’s no other children aside from Sherry Birkin.
You don’t have to think too much about it. It is obvious that children and babies are definitely among the casualties. They are not babies, granted. Even then, it’s still not a pretty sight regardless.
There was no children at the village in Resident Evil 4 either. They were not able to handle the Las Plagas in their bodies so it’s implied they died, just not shown onscreen. The same can be said for Resident Evil 5’s Majini in the village and throughout the US, China and Edonia in Resident Evil 6.
Again, it is not shown but it was implied that babies and children were also among the dead and so, just not onscreen.
Well, I’m talking about showing and not implied. Any game can imply that babies were killed but to actually show a dead baby in a video game is another story.

They have a weird cultural thing about missing fingers, something about lower class people losing them performing dirty jobs I think. The left for dead 2 game cover was similarly censored, though that's the only other instance I can think of.
