- High school freshman Hikari Tomonaga (Suzu Hirose 广濑铃) enters Fukui Chuo High School, and joins the cheer dance team in hope of cheering on her crush Kosuke (Mackenyu 真剣佑) at his soccer competition. The team’s Sparta-like teacher Kaoruko Saotome (Yuki Amami 天海祐希); however, has a few rules of her own, which includes a ban on boyfriends and fringes, and declares that they will be aiming for victory in America! The senior members quit the team in defiance, and it is now all up to the newbies and the newly appointed team leader Ayano Tamaki (Ayami Nakajo 中条彩未) to hold the team together. As these girls stumble through their training, amidst quarrels, laughter and tears, the challenge to realise the impossible dream is just beginning.

Me and my friends saw this film the other day thru Eigasai film festival here in the Philippines and it was very good. It's funny and inspiring. Hikari's smile is very infectious. I love her character.😀

Recently purchased this from CD Baby Japan and I should warn English / American viewers it does NOT have Eng sub titles. Trying to buy the title was a nightmare and were it not for the brilliant efforts of a freelance sub title team/teams with the initial release on You Tube it would be difficult to understand the main core of the various storylines. BUT as said thankfully I had seen this at least twice and we enjoyed it so much we thought we would add it our collection. TOHO film release is on region 3 so you need a multi region player to view this and the quality is not the best. It is an entertaining film with a good vibe throughout and as said we were lucky to understand the various sections adding to the final show down. For a film of this level that is definitely entertaining it is a shame that it is not easily obtainable AND has had ENGLISh sub titles added. We in the west have constantly taken time out with the movies produced from the main studio/film companies to accomodate other countries with a multitude of subtitles. Shame that Japan who as usual let down this by not being bothered to add them despite as said originally the beta release was worked on to provide english subs. If you're looking to english subs and watching this for the first time? We don't recommend buying it unless of course they get the message and sort out the english subs. The fact that the beta release on You Tube had very acceptable sub titles in English takes away any excuses on the producers of the final DVD production and sales.
