    Have you seen his ubiquitous video " Cups and Balls " by David Regal .. It comes up on my feed on you tube. He is a great narrator .As he performs magic. My favorite magic show video (short format) .. It's about 7 minutes. I would like to see the unedited full video. I think it was at "The Magic Castle " a while ago.

    A nice review as ever! I have all five of his books (the ones you have). Right now I am doing my selfproclamed Regal project, I am actually about a week into it. What I am doing now is reading his books front to back, two tricks a day no matter how big the trick is. My goal is to understand the methode, not preforme it all, that would take much more time. I started with constant fooling part 1. From what I am reading, the wrighting up of the trick is sometimes a bit technical. There are some other books that read a lot easyer, but the tricks in the book are good, so it is worth it!

      @@EruditeMagic thanks, I was actually replying to I.M.'s comment about his Regal Project. Was curious if he was counting Star Quality or if it's intentionally not included.
      Thanks for reminding that the Classic Collection includes that though! I checked the H.L. site and it appears all but Vol 1 are still available.

    I have this book. Really liked your review of it. On another note, thanks to your reviews I've added several books to my collection after seeing your reviews. On the flip side of that there are some books that intrigued me but after watching your reviews I decided that they did not fit my performing style.

    Excellent review! Looking forward to getting the 2nd book, Interpreting Magic. Hope you will review that one in the future. However, I would like your opinion: Card College or Royal Road to Card Magic? Just looking for a professional opinion. Thanks!

    • @EruditeMagic
      @EruditeMagic  4 года назад +3

      They're both very different. Royal Road is going to be a smaller overview, but inexpensive. Still useful, but not nearly as in depth. Card College is quite an investment, both in terms of time and money. However, it will give you many options and lots of detail.
      All that said, I recommend picking up Royal Road first since it's so inexpensive. If you find you've learned everything you need to know from it, I would graduate to Card College. Think of Royal Road as your high school diploma.

      @Erudite Magic I'm ten months into magic. So I started with Mark Wilson's book. Then got expert at the card table not knowing I was basically going to have to learn a new language to understand it. Lol
      Then bobo's modern coin magic, and bill tarr's now you see it, now you don't.
      I think it's a good start for books.
      But I'm not sure where to go next.
      Guess I'll just have to watch more of your videos to find out. 😀
