This was a trend setting match for women's cricket. Four Centurions in all and all four were of special class. Laura & Capsy's were to rate highly as they are made while chasing a mamoth total under pressure. At the same time Smriti's was a professionally structured innings & Herman's was a justified innings to her true potential.
In such games, No team deserves to lose & it's women's cricket that's the winner. Great game!!
Bowlers of both team showed the fighting spirit on not so helping track. Remember, It's the debutante, Arundhatis's 19th over that set the tone for Pooja, who was also experiencing new role for the first time in an international game. Cudos to both of them.
Now the introspection part:
No team on the earth would sideline their winners to ride on some non proven talent & expect to be world champion some day. You need to be precise, faithful & consistent with the formation, order of the team. Player management plays a huge role in it.
We don't have 5 top order batters of whom anybody bowls. It's the old problem.
(Come on, you can't bet on Smriti & Shafali for that in a crucial game.)
We tried with Herman & Jemmy successfully in few games and left it there only. That's not say consistent.
A Champion team has few winners & rest fighters. This team shows they have it in them.
But No team on earth can plan to sit there winners aside and expect to win. (That we've won this is part of the uncertainty of the game.)
So as batters we've Smriti, Jemmy & Herman and in bowling Shreyanka & Dipti are the two.
We've kept Shreyanka out of the boundary line & Kept Jenmimah waiting in the wings for 50 overs!!
If you're not sure about the spot & role of champion players in the team. The mission is incomplete.
Surprisingly Jemmy was used in onedayers as safety buffer to afford the top order failure!!

Likes of Radha Yadav have to do better. Two righties batted for 200 balls yet your left arm spinner is totally ineffective. Just being economical won't do in ODIs, you have to be wicket taker as well. Remember there's Rajeshwari Gayakwad who's much more wicket taker than Radha in this format
