      They need to do something. The game is more athletic than it's ever been and these guys are running and jumping all over the place. Kawhi just has a permanent knee problem but all these other guys are getting hurt because the speed of the game like you said.

    Load management makes you more injury prone imo. The reason you play 82 games, workout, and practice is to condition your body. In the Army we ran in boots. The DS told us it’s too condition your legs and feet for those long rucks, marches, and runs.

    Remember Grant Hill had a devastating injury that was mismanaged.. He played many years after with the ability he still had left.. Kawai is doing the same..The problem is folks have expectations for him that he's not fully capable of fulfilling.. He's playing to the best of his ability.. Load management is some derogatory new term.. He has chronic knee issues, period!.. He's not resting up.. He plays until he's in serious pain, and then sits out until he's ready again..

      Big games?....Like the one yesterday that they lost on their homecourt. My thing is load management doesn’t limit the injuries in the first place and doesn’t actually “saves” Kawhi for big games. He just missed one yesterday that they would won had he been available as it was a close game.

      It will happen at some point. They are my second team behind my Pelicans. I couldn't stand the "Lob City" era especially CP3 and Blake Griffin I liked the rest of that team. They kept blaming Doc Rivers but what have these dudes done since Doc? I think Ty Lue is a great coach but Phil Jackson and Red Auerbach couldn't coach a team where your two best players can't stay healthy in this version of the Clippers.

    His injury in the playoffs vs. The Warriors when Zaza stuck his leg out and injured Kawhi changed so many things. It probably will shorten Kawhi’s HOF career, it messed up his relationship with Pop and the Spurs and people forget that they was killing the Warriors in that Game 1 at Golden State when they had KD!

      this is so brain dead. they are ignoring the fact that kawhi's knee is forever busted and it's a different case from the usual injuries. So does this mean if kawhi went full speed from the start of the season he'd still make it to the postseason? the answer is a resounding HELL NO. they managed his load so he could make it to the playoffs and take his chances here

    Kawhi doesn't load manage to prevent injuries, he load manages because his knee is shot and he is basically extending his career to get as much of a bag as possible. The guy is pretty much fleecing the Clippers.

      I think the bubble just happened to be the perfect storm of events for them tbh. The season getting shut down for a bit before the bubble allowed AD and lebron to get some much needed rest and they were able to stay healthy through the playoffs because of it. Also they clearly just wanted it more than everyone else that year

    Players trend of load management today, and "saving it" for the playoffs, treating it like a light switch is just a lazy tactic.

    I can't believe we still haven't seen the 2 LA teams meet in the playoffs since Kawhi came to town & at this rate never will. What a disappointment. As much of disappointment as that year when everyone expected Bron & Cavs to meet Kobe's Lakers in Finals but Cavs got bounced. Smh

    This is by far the biggest issue with the nba. You have like 5 of the top 15 players out in the first 4 days of the playoffs. It just kills interest in the whole playoffs. I wonder if this is a part of a plan to make these stupid mid season tournaments seem more palatable. It won’t spell the end of the league of course, but it will be a huge blemish in the history of the league in 20 years or so.

    I think they need to reduce the number of games in the regular season and get rid of the play-in, enough to eliminate back to back games. I think players are probably a lot faster than they used to be which has a lot more impact on the knees. I wouldn't count on it though. The NBA and the teams want their money and the more games, the more money.

    It takes 2 full years to come back from an ACL Injury unless you get on HGH. If you push it early, this is what you get. There is no way around it. The players should be allowed to get on HGH until they are 100%

    Kawhi is making $42.5m this season. He is the 8th highest paid in the league. He only played 52 games this year. Missed all of last season. I know injuries happen, but the NBA needs to restructure these contracts.
    Plus, guys have other things going on outside of the game now. As he's gotten older, how much has his father's murder impacted his temperament?

    I think load management has now become an all encompassing word like the word mental health. It depends what type of load management is being used.
    Load management on a micro level is beneficial, but if your players are only going to play 50-60 games at 30 min, it could def. Backfire it's the equivalent of a track runner practicing for just the 100 meters, when he/she would have to be in a 400 meter event.
