Water Polo Women's Preliminary Round - Group A - China United States Full Replay from the Water Polo Arena at the London 2012 Olympic Games. -- 3 August 2012
Water polo made its Olympic debut at the Paris Games in 1900. It was not included in 1904 but would be present at each subsequent edition of the Olympic Games.
In the early days, the players rode on floating barrels that resembled mock horses, and swung at the ball with mallet-like sticks. This made it similar to equestrian polo, hence its name.

I remember playing this as a kid in elementary school swim class. It's more intense then it looks to people who haven't tried it.

This is odd, the audio of the actual event is ahead of the video by about 8 seconds, yet the commentary is in sync with the video.

The China's goalie is an amazing goalie. Look at how many she blocked!! I am in awe... That is literally my goalie dream. This year I started out as goalie and I am getting better but I am still not good enough. I want to be strong for my team while my team is strong for me. I am happy that they trust me enough to be goalie. This water polo game was truly amazing. I want to be like both goalies. Blocking without hesitation and egg beating that high. If you have water polo connections or you are not sure if you want to play yet, or you are experiencing the same things as me, then comment down below. :)

America's goalie is also really good. I want to be a bit of both. Good at blocking and egg beating high to reach high corners. *sigh* I hope one day I will be that good.

Wolf_on_Blue Moon as a goalie , you are the most important person on the team, you have to communicate with your team, that alone makes you the most valued player, and make sure to call the shot clock

Tensa Zangetsu Thank you :D :) I will make sure to communicate well with my team and to look at the clock regularly. Have a good day/night! :D

Usually pretty chilly, so that when the athletes start sweating and moving they don’t feel weighed down and drowsy.
