@majormassenspektrometer you need to check your GT Air helmet production date...helmets expire after 7 years after its made even if never used...5 years when being used. the first generation GT Air is from 2014 or so...we are on the third version of the GT Air in 2024

Yes, I have the GT Air 2 and the ratchet system digs into my Adam’s apple no matter how I set it. It was said that the 3 had a smaller ratchet but based on this they look identical. A solution to a question no-one asked. Never once had an issue with the double D and strap. And such is the world these days but over £600 for a (painted) or £550 (white) midrange helmet is outrageous. My GT Air 1 a few years ago was £320!
I got a couple of discounts to get mine down in the lower $600 range, but if no discount is available, it would cost about $700. Is is worth it? IDK, but it is probably the most comfortable helmet I have ever owned.
I just want to add my experience to maybe help someone. Coming from a GT AIR 2 I planned to buy a GT AIR 3. Long story short, I returned it after 10 minutes only. The sun visor on the GT AIR 3 goes down if you ride with the clear visor open!!! it even lets air in. very bad quality IMO, Also, side note, it actually seemed worse in terms of noise than the gt air 2. So yeah, if you're like me, stay with the GT AIR 2.
Shoei if you read this as you should, pay attention: We need future nxr3 and gtair4 or a new model to have: Much Better multi stage adjustable ventilation where its fully open position leads to a -1 degree Celsius inside temperature vs outside temperature instead of the same inside and outside like this gtair 3. A drop down sunvisor that goes lowdown not to get on our field of view BUT with a dropdown button next to the base of the helmet not the side as it ruins the Aesthetic completely not to mention its aerodinAmics! Pay attention to the competition HJC's dropdown sunvisor system and Arai ESPECIALLY Arai's interior lining at it is the absolute best in confort it slides down our heads butter smooth every single time and That is all we dream of in a top of the line sport touring helmet. Another advantage about not needing tinted visor are tunnels. In Italy we have so many of them and it's very practical using like this on the helmet.
You didn't mention the new one finally has a small open crack position on the visor, something owners have wanted since the original gt-air 1.
What's the benefit of being able to do that? is it for when you're wearing a tinted visor?
@@terdferguson4945 on cold days it's useful to prevent the visor fogging while still keeping warm. By the way I think the GT-AIR2 also had this.
@GeordiLaForgery pinlock has always kept the fog away. Never had to crack open for that however on very hot days i do crack open my visor on my Arai.
You wanted that.
Is it worth upgrading from the GT-Air 1 version to the version 3?
No. Keep your old, outdated helmet forever.

Do you still need safety glasses, with the drop down visor
Hi, there is no need for them with a full face helmet like this! - Iza
@
Thank you sir
I’m definitely going to invest in a modular full face helmet #3
It will be my first ever shoei 3
Thanks for your video
Do they make a photocromic visor for Air 3?
I'm afraid they do not. - Iza
It looks a bit rounder. A little wider.

In Thailand, GT air3 will be available after middle of this year 2024. Shall I wait to buy Air3 or let buy air 2 right now.
Is shipping to Thailand reliable. I so just buy from Europe it would likely be cheaper anyway.

No they also use D ring
Is this helmet double D ring?
