    Great quality, I spent many years making molds for architectural projects and used a very similar system, one thing we did slightly different when sealing edges with silicone was to spray the corners with a mild detergent and using a silicone tool it leaves no mess, so no waiting overnight to remove the tails. this was literally the most thorough video I have seen, very enjoyable to watch.

    That is an absolutely beautiful countertop! Great job!
    A probably silly question: Could you not have (with a bit of treatment) used the original model that was cut for the drain board instead of going to the trouble of creating the mold? Would the resultant product not have been the same?
    Cheers, and great work!!

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks andypandy!
      That's a very good question. It could have been done as you say, but since the CNC cut piece is rigid, it would have been more difficult to demold, and probably be used only once. We wanted something flexible and that would allow us to use it many times.
      Thanks for the comment!

    Is the thick piece of the concrete hallow on some spots? I saw that you didnt add concrete to the entire mold.

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  4 года назад

      Hello David, for the big piece, at 4:45, when they demold the piece, you can see that the whole piece is hallow, and you can see the thickness of the borders.
      As for the small piece, it is cast completely, no hollow.

    I am looking to pour a concrete monument base, it's a pyramid with a flat top. that a bronze statue will be affixed requiring anchor bolts to be cast in. I am wondering if it is possible to pour any of the products thicker, into a from like traditional concrete? the finish is to be polished. Does anyone have experience and maybe a link to a video for this?

    If you are only using it once, is it possible to use the tooling board directly, rather than making a silicon mold, then a resin version?

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  5 лет назад

      Yes, you could. This was cut out of a boarding tool, so it was pretty rigid and if used directly it could be a problem when demolding, damaging the casting. If it's going to be used directly, we would recommend it to be made out of foam.

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  4 года назад

      Hola Juan Manuel, como veo que habla español, le respondo en español. Supongo que se refiere al líquido que se vierte en el 1:40 y que en el 1:52 ya está sólido y se desmolda. Es una goma de uretano, se llama Task 16. Se utiliza en este proyecto porque se puede desmoldar en solo 90 minutos, y es un material que aguanta muy bien la corrosividad del concreto. Puede encontrar más información aquí: www.smooth-on.com/products/task-16/

    Do you have to spray GFRC with spray gun,or can you also mold by hand?

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  6 лет назад

      Hi Brian, it is possible, but it's more difficult because the mix is fluid, and you would be risking to have voids that you wouldn't have if spraying. If you want a more in depth information, please ask our technical support team here: support.buddyrhodes.com/add/

    • @brianbraynen4178

      Buddy Rhodes Concrete Products ok thank you,I follow your channel and I see you have a special mix that you use to do press molding.is that different from the GFRC mix? And I also visit your online store and would like to pruchase your products

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  6 лет назад +1

      Yes it is different, the Crafstman Mix is designed specially to exhibit clay like properties, which lends itself for use with the press technique.

    I remember watching your original dvds growing up. I like the use of water reducers and fiber. Have you ever added super plasticizers to the mix?? Make it easier to pour? And fill any voids?

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Benjamin, that's great about the dvds!
      Actually the Water reducer 420 is technically a high range plasticizer or super plasticizer. We recommend 420 for spray applications, for pour applications we recommend the water reducer 555, which allows for more flow with less chance of segregation. You can see more information here: www.buddyrhodes.com/water-reducer-adva-555/

    Porque tapam o concreto com cobertores?

    • @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts
      @BuddyRhodesConcreteProducts  4 года назад

      A cura do concreto deve ser gradual, caso contrário, podem ocorrer fissuras. Para evitar rachaduras, o plástico é colocado sobre o concreto em cura para reter a água em seu interior e regular sua temperatura, garantindo uma cura gradual. As mantas ajudam a evitar que o calor saia da peça, permitindo um tempo de desmoldagem mais rápido.
