We sang this in choir my senior year of high school. I wanted it sung at our graduation, but no one else supported me. I still get teared up when I think about it. So many from that group went on to accomplish so many great things. In my heart, I will be singing with them for all time.
That would have been a wonderful graduation song.
I can always hear Gene Kelly's sweet tenor when he sings with others.
When you leave high-school and lose all the people you new from elementary school

Great song. But there is also a reprise of the song at the end of the film with a choir singing.
