Agreed as I have the s95c also and the hdr is spectacular and when I see some people’s videos about how the a95l was much better than the s95c especially in game mode I found it hard to believe as I couldn’t imagine the picture quality being any better than s95c
I replaced my Panasonic ZT60 plasma with a Sony A80L 77-in. Out of the box the Sony doesn't hold a leg to my Panasonic plasma, it was calibrated by D-Nice. Out of the box colors are off. The black crushes most dark scenes. And the one thing that kills me is the luminance is not correct, overbright. For instance if there's a scene with someone standing in front of a window you can't see that person as the windows are over brightened, which I know is incorrect compared to my old plasma television. Can't wait to get the calibrator out here to fix this TV.
Quantum, can please test how aggressive the abl is on a95l like for example does it dim down content in really bright scenes like and anime, as well as in gaming
Pls for some scenes HDR in dynamic both out of the box just out of curiosity. Because from a gaming point of view it is unbeatable. I have S95B 65 and it’s perfect .With last firmware 1620 more 3d and flow. Also my previous tv is the G1 evo 65 and the SAM S95B is far away better. The panel is clean like first day after 8 months gaming and movies which is something important.
I am looking for the s95b but I read a lot about firmware downgrades over time from Samsung. Do I need to worry in the long run if I do not want to upgrade every 2-3 years?
Hey man did you see that Phillips hue has a sync app on samsung tvs that offers 4k 120 hz without the need for sync box? I think it needs the tv to be connected to the internet to work though
Love the video so far. At the end of your testing can you rank the three - S95C, A95L & G3. Even if it is "subjective" which is the copout most reviewers do, it would be nice to know what your personal opinion is and why.
I have the A95l. coming from an LG CX. to be honest wasn't really blown away with the HDR and dolby Vision. yes it does look much better and brighter than older model OLEDS. I'd say the positive things about this tv is how good the built in Google TV is, much prefer it over LG interface. I still use a streaming device, apple 4K 3rd gen but I don't think you'll need one for this tv the onboard apps are solid. Gaming is way better, PC mode is crazy good. but when it comes down to $3,500 price tag I'd say no way in hell. I don't have the LG G3 but I'm willing to bet the difference in quality is miniscule. if you have money pay the enthusiast price. if not just pass or get a cheaper high end tv.
And now he dont let me write comments i dont know how he does it, but i can still reply. In no any other review the a95l looks that bad, i am sure he is down calibrated it specially for the video.
My friend has a 10-12 year old 1080p 50in lg and it has a phenomenal picture. I don’t understand why the picture can look as good or almost as good as some of these expensive high end TVs today more input please
IDE take the Sony because it be built better and the speakers sound better to me in store,,I’ve gone back to Sony from Samsung after six years I’m not going to be placing tv next to each other but from what I’ve seen in store I’m pretty impressed with the Sony…😊😊
Hello Quantum 👋 what 2023 tv is best for gaming on Xbox series X and has the best overall picture quality with your $4.99 settings? The 77” LG C3 OR 77” Samsung S90C?
At that pricepoint I might as well buy a Hisense PX2-Pro or C1 or even a L9H (Triple Laser Projector) with 110% BT2020 Color, Better Motion (due the nature of projectors), and Better pixel quality, and a decent projector screen, that beats out nearly any TV when properly setup with an HTPC/Videoprocessor and a good ALR Projector Screen.
Of course Sony Apologists are going to try to discredit you by calling you and this video trash. But I see nothing wrong with this video. Sony fanboys hate it when cost tarnishes their beloved tv but the reality is that you get more for less with Samsung and with Sony, it's generally more times than not, the reverse.
@@romerome6968 Yes there were problems with the S95B early last year when some (Again: SOME) people received bent panels but that has since been corrected with the S95C and S90C models.... and not only have they been corrected they look great style -wise remaining thin instead of the bulky heavy A95K and A95L panels from Sony. But this comment is not surprising from Sony apologists that try to take one negative from a competing brand and make a mountain out of a mole hill. Meanwhile Sony has received NUMEROUS complaints dating back to the A95K last year which is CONTINUING this year with the A95L where people have received significant scratches on their screens because Sony is too cheap to put some kind of protection on their screens for packaging. **waits for the typical excuse from the typical Sony apologist to justify the price** But if you and other Sony Apologists want to play the "mountain out of mole hill" card. I can do that too.... Behold at the list of negatives for the A95L below Here are other problems some customers are reporting: *inferior game bar *Only two HDMI 2.1 ports *inferior HDMI 2.1 port selection *inferior input latency especially with VRR *No game motion plus *For PC gamers no 144hz option (limited to 120hz) *Less settings adjustment/options in game mode *Issues with Dolby Vision Content *Audio compatibility issues *Audio Lip Sync issues (which some are unable to correct causing them to contemplate returning the panel.) *Reported over-processing and over-sharpening of the picture when some content does not need it making the picture look artificial and lifeless (This is probably just my guess why it lost in the German shoot out) *DIMMING OF THE PICTURE IN SDR ESPECIALLY SPORTS WHEN BRIGHTNESS IS SET TO HIGH (ARE YOU FUC*** KIDDING ME? GTFO) - So the only way to avoid dimming is to set brightness to medium which may not be the best solution for everyone especially if you're in a really bright room with windows and you're trying for example to watch a Sunday Football game. *Reported general dimming of the picture NO MATTER WHAT YOU WATCH if left on for extended hours. I believe 4-5 hours. This is either a heating issue or a dimming algorithm issue or BOTH. *Bulky and Heavy *AC Plug is tethered to the TV. Bye Bye Plug then Bye Bye TV. Just DUMB. King?? More like King of Bugs. King of Smoke and mirrors. King of Scams. King of Excuses. KING OF POOR VALUE.
@@etinosaoyemwense how do we proove that is the truth? Need to check settings are as OOTB, but in the video he does not show settings. So how we can know ?
@@etinosaoyemwense I watched that demo video on a 10 year old LCD TV and it looked waaaay better than what Quatum TV CLAIMS in his video to be out of the box settings for Sony's flagship TV for this year. I find that hard to believe having seen, in person, the current run of this years TV offerings from Panasonic, LG, Samsung and Sony. I'm not a Sony fanboy, just pointing out that things may not be as they seem in his video. (edited to correct typing errors - damn these sausage fingers !)
The Sony held better when calibrated than I expected. Great job as always man!

A95L came in last at the German TV shootout! Hmmm………..
G3 win ?
Nope! Panasonic
Sorry, you’re right. The g3 came in first! My bad.
S95C for the win thus far. I love the way it displays HDR.

Very informative video 👌
I have the s95c, which is great, but I believe G3 is more affordable more value for money than A95l
4 hdmi 2.1
Do you have screen burn in with your s95c? I bought the s90c

Can you please do a video about tv deals going in now for Black Friday! What’s a good deal and what to avoid!
S95B best TV I've ever had 🎉

Will do brother
I just love his honesty.
Thank you so much
s95c is the best choice for video content. sony is overpriced garbage. motion on sony is horrible.

Quantum what are your thoughts on the LG G3 winning best overall TV in the German HIFI double blind shouting? The Sony A95L took 4th out of 5th place.
the germans hi def channel rated A95L 4th s95c took the 2nd spot
Bro you gotta give us a tv Ranking !!!
Hey @QuantumTV question I see Best Buy has the s90C but they also has a Samsung S94BD which one should I pull the trigger on ?
I will choose the s90c

Using HDR to begin with is dumb imo. I personally never liked hdr. Cuz it does just that, washes out everything.
