Emile Griffith won this fight in a very difficult fight to score. It was because of Griffith's tactics in not letting Luis Manuel Rodriguez get set. He did it by smothering most of El Feo's punches and not giving El Feo punching room. This fight was mostly a wrestling match. Too much clutching and grabbing. But that is what happens when you got the two best welterweight boxers of the 1960s decade. You will see a lot of that. Luis Manuel was the fastest guy. But Griffith the most aggressive.

I felt Rodriguez just pulled out this close fight.... he boxed better and fought on the inside better! But it could have gone either way
