I did too however Davis use to Much Movement and Not Enough Punching he made Spinks miss but didn't hit Spinks enough times. Spinks let his Hands go and Caught Davis Infrequently but caught him. I first saw Eddie Davis in the Emile Griffith training tapes
Sugar Ray Leonard was great fighter but i’ve yet to understand how or why he was employed as a commentator for as long as he was. His limited insight consisted of “I’m looking for that left hook from (insert fighter’s name)" or “I’m looking for that uppercut from (insert fighter’s name)". Essentially it was “I’m looking for that (insert punches that might be thrown) from (insert fighter’s name)". If you keep saying it until you run out of punches you can throw you’ll be right, lol.
Eddie Davis definitely did enough to win this fight against Michael Spinks. The official decision/scorecards of this fight is totally disgraceful, the margins are totally absurd
Eddie Davis did something zQwight Qawi didn't do go to the body I'm a big Spinks but very close fight Davis might of won despite the score cards. There should have been a rematch
Spinks was a scary Light heavyweight. Big puncher and a bully to boot. It was at the tail end of his career but it was pretty impressive that he finished Yaqui Lopez considering how early and often he hurt him. Saad Muhammad finished Lopez but it was at the end of a grueling epic back and forth fight. As a Heavyweight Spinks was pretty unbearable. My opinion obviously.
Should of been a rematch. Alot of people thought Davis eas robbed. Davis career went down hill after this fight. Spunks didnt fight again for a full yea A 3rd round knockout of David Sears. Who wasnt a very good fighter
When I first watched this fight years ago I thought that Davis won the fight, and my opinion has not changed.

Still cant undrestand why no rematch. And Spinks didnt fight for 1 year
. Then takrs on a doft touch in David Sears scoring a 3 round knockout
Eddie Davis gave a Good fight

Ray was brutal at commentary.
Leonard was in with the right people... hence the reason he was given the decision against Hagler.
