You don’t actually know that though, there will be an actor somewhere who would/will play the character better. Yes he was an amazing actor and the film was fantastic but there will be someone somewhere who would play it better.
@@fredcalvert7368 I do know he was perfect for the role periodt. He had the perfect demeanor to portray a King, This statement does not imply that someone else wouldn’t do a good job portraying T’challa/BP.
Makes perfect sense because Shuri becoming the Black Panther is part of the canon. However, what's more exciting is that she'll create an herb infused with vibranium. Can't wait to see that!
I always had it in mind that Shuri was set for something bigger than just being the Black Panther Tech Genius. Something along the lines of the next iron man, but for me makes perfect sense for her to take on the Black Panther Mantle. Love the character and the way she is portrayed in the movies. A little cheekiness that we’ll miss from the MCU since RDJ’s departure.
People said the exact same thing about Jack Nicholson being too perfect for the Joker, and then Heath Ledger's blew his version away years later, and some argue Joaquin Phoenix perfected it to some extent with his own take as well. After Christopher Reeves died, everyone said that nobody could ever play superman like he did, yet many would argue that Henry Cavill been doing a great job as the man of steel these days along with that one actor on the supergirl tv series. I know it's hard to accept now, and Chadwick Boseman was a great actor, but trust me when I tell you he's NOT the only actor that can play that character. Others can do it too, and arguably better if given the chance. No disrespect to him, but unless you can explain to me why it's not disrespectful to both Adam West and Christopher Reeves when people are constantly cast to play batman and superman, after both actors died, then I'm afraid I don't see why it would be disrespectful to Chadwick Boseman if another actor played T'Challa after the actor died. It's silly.
Agreed, look I'm sure boseman was a great guy and I mean no disrespect here, but at the end of the day when I see these movies it's because I want to see the characters , so unless that character is dead (iron man), or at a point where they can't do much else in the movies and need to be replaced (captain America), then I expect to see Said character again, and last time I checked T'chala was neither dead nor in any type of position where he needs to be replaced.
@@smuby8899 Look it's not about resurrecting him. Even Chadwick Boseman would've wanted the story of Black Panther to be carried on and along with it his legacy as the Black Panther. So hiring another actor would be the best possible way to go about.
@@smuby8899 Because Black Panther was simply not just a movie. It meant something more for the audience. It specially gave hope to the black people. So if replacing someone means to be able to continue that legacy than it'll all be worth it.
Sounds great for Shuri to inherit the thrown. They can also let Black Panthers girl/wife have his child before he died. As he grows up quickly. Shuri is teaching and training him to become the next Black Panther.
Can't believe Disney/MARVEL doesn't get how essential T'Challa is. If an act or playing Batman, Captain America, or whoever suddenly passed away, no one would be advocating killing off their alter egos Bruce Wayne, Steve Rogers or whoever. Chadwick Boseman gave an awesome performance, but the actor and character are not the same person! Killing off T'Challa would be a huge mistake and will not bring Chadwick Boseman back to us. All it will do is deprive those of us who want more T'Challa, a heroic character we're just getting to know. WAKANDA FOREVER 🙅🏾♂️T'CHALLA LIVES!!!
EXACTLY!!!!!! They're also making it harder on themselves than it needs to be. T'Challa is the perfect character to usher Ororo/Storm and Namor into the MCU as well.
We dont know if marvel is going down this road beacuse what Marvel sometimes does is that they edit them in. So they could do that but i dont think shuri will become black panther just yet its to early for them to do it. I'm pretty sure that they'll edit him in.
I glad to see I'm not the only person who is of the same opinion concerning the fate of the Black Panther. As of this time icon James Bond actor Sean Connery has passed away, as of last 2 years we lost Sir Roger Moore ,what I'm getting at is, once an actor has transitioned from a role doesn't mean thats the end the character . There are more stories of the Panther to tell, and how do we know if we appreciate an new actor's talent unless we give him a chance.
I feel like the best choice is to use a new actor to portray T'Challa so that the character can have an entire arc instead of killing him off offscreen
The character of T'Challa won't be recast. They are killing T'Challa off-screen so they can give Chadwick an on-screen memorial. They will introduce a new younger version of Black Panther later so he can have his own arc.
Shuri disappeared in the snap; you find that out in Avengers: Engame. Everybody that left in the snap was gone for 5 years; which means Endgame takes place 5 yrs after Avenger: Infinity War. This means since T'Challa and Shuri been gone in the snap for 5 yrs that somebody else has been king of Wakanda for 5yrs. The question is who was Black Panther for those 5 yrs .
Isaac Ojukwu it would be the Queen as a stand in, which is his mother. As during this time period he was not married yet. She acts as an interim ruler when he leaves Wakanda for periods of time. They recently showed this again during XMens current arc X of Swords as Storm went to confront him.
@@landowilkins9840 I want to read the X of Swords. I didn't I guessed M'Baku because the were willing to give him the herb when they thought T'Challa was dead. Even Shuri was willing to let M'Baku take the herb. I don't where its going to go. W'kabi probably wouldn't be the next Black Panther. Most likely won't happen; but, out of all the potentials his story would probably be the most interesting as Black Panther. Think about it he betrayed T'Challa. Let's say T'Challa dies in the film (I don't know how Coogler is going give him a farewell) and W'Kabi didn't apologize. W'Kabi just had different views and he agreed more with Kilmongers ideas and thought it was best for the country. W'Kabi probably don't view himself as a bad guy. It was just disagreements with T'Challa who was his friend. Nothing personal. Out of Killmonger, Shuri, M'Baku, anybody if he was to be Black Panther to me it would be more interesting because he could go on this journey of trying to right his wrongs. Feeling bad how he betrayed his friend who was a good man. Good stories come from main characters that have issues and trying to overcome it. Shuri everybody likes her. M'Baku formed a treaty and now gets along with the other tribes. Killmonger on the other hand is almost in the same boat as W'kabi but the problem with him being Black Panther is it wouldn't be believable. His ideas is something he formed his whole life; the way of thinking. He killed many soldiers just to wait for that day to fight T'Challa. Making him become Black Panther is like David Duke gets in a fight and then all of a sudden he's leading Black Lives Matter marches. Those ideas and hate he formed over years. It is possible, people have change but for those people it was a slow process. Killmonger would have to be a slow process.
Chadwicks' portrayal of Black Panther was fantastic, but he is not the only actor/man who can bring life to the character, T'challa. Putting sentimentality aside BP is big business , it provides salaries for many hundreds of Marvel/Disney employees, I think down the line an actor who will stun us is closer than we think.
I also think Daniel Kaluuya as W'Kabi would be a great follow up to become Black Panther. After all they were best friends. Or perhaps Daniel Kaluuya as Okoye.
I think it's too early to make Shuri the Black Panther, and a tad bit disrespectful to take the character of TChalla out of the MCU because of Chadwick's death.
I agree... We need the rest of the BP story arcs before Suri... I want Namor, Storm, etc... which cannot happen unless they recast...Besides if you watch Suri fighting in BP and Endgame/ Infinity Wars, she’s nowhere ready to take on major villains... Okoye and Nakia were much better fighters than Suri; she’s not mature enough yet!
It is true other characters have taken on the mantle of Black Panther in the comics over the years, however the mantle always returns back to T’Challa. T’Challa is the definitive and quintessential BP and always has been since the character’s inception in 1966. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby would not argue with that. Marvel should and hopefully will recast.
But she doesn't need to become Black Panther immediately! You see, in how many movies does T'Challa appear? Four movies. This means that if people at Marvel are any good at doing what they do (and they are), they may have enough material to create a final arc for T'Challa and give him a proper send-off. It could all revolve around responsibility (I know, I know, just hear me out). T'Challa could have to make some kind of heroic sacrifice against Doom and/or Namor in order to enable Shuri and the rest to defeat them. That way, Shuri would be forced to grow up in the course of one movie, rise up to her own responsibility, become the new Black Panther, and accomplish what her brother started. Although it would take a stunning performance by Leticia Wright to sell the rapid change, I believe that it can be done. If for example Doom were a main villain as it looked like some months ago, well, Doom could have worked well as a villain for T'Challa, but he could serve even better as one for Shuri, emphasizing the ethical conflict about the use of technology. As to the Avengers vs Xmen of it all, we can't really tell how the multiverse might come into play, but if actors from the Fox universe are going to reprise their roles alongside their MCU counterparts, then why not Halle Berry? T'Challa's romance with Storm (and his recast) could happen mainly in that universe, with flashbacks and a new Storm (Janelle Monae) appearing in Black Panther 2. Why, the former Fox universe could even be the reality from which some alternate Avengers (alternate Steve? alternate Tony?) may come, when they arrive in the main MCU timeline.
@@markveznaver5672 : Just because T’Challa appeared in four films doesn’t mean he had a complete story arc. He had a small but meaningful role in “Civil War”. Wakanda as a setting played a more vital part in “Infinity War” than Black Panther himself and, he literally had only one line of dialogue in “Endgame”. As for his own movie “Black Panther”(2018) he was overshadowed by a strong supporting cast. Most people I know and even a great number of fans and critics alike were praising Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger as the best performance. The character of T’Challa felt a bit underused and belittled in his first featured film and that’s not good. Marvel has not done a terrific job with their representation of Black Panther in the MCU thus far. The only way that can be changed is by recasting immediately! Black Panther deserves a full film trilogy like the other major players in the MCU: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man etc.. Let’s give Shuri a Disney+ series and call it a day. But leave the the “Black Panther” film franchise to T’Challa and ONLY him where it rightfully belongs.
Shuri doesn’t have to be the queen to be a kick ass Black Panther. She already invented all of Wakanda and the tech for the BP. And she can lead the whitest of men into war. And the other one out of war. She might even be a bit overqualified for the part.
It’s amazing how T’challa is a huge role in marvel comics and they give him one movie. Yea I know shuri becomes black panther but that’s after we’ve had years of t’challa. Today is a sad day
This is really the only route that they can go which wouldn't feel disrespectful to Chadwick and it fits into the comics history. Really, it just accelerates where the franchise would have gone after BP3, which is sad, but essential at this point. I'm all for Shuri taking on the role.
@@parisg155 , that would require T'Challa to have known Ororo before this and to have had a child with her out of wedlock... while he was with Nakia, before he was a king. That would also mean that child would be a bastard and not in line for the throne. What's more, they've already done the complicated father/son relationship with both T'Challa and N'Jadaka (Killmonger), whereas they've not yet explored a brother/sister relationship except very briefly with Wanda and Pietro in "Age of Ultron". So, no offence, but I don't see that so much as "creative writing" as contrived and repetitive writing. Shuri would be the more obvious and logical choice in light of Chadwick's passing.
Paris Grace so your rather have an unestablished male character shoehorned in, than have an established female character who would emotionally resonate with the audience if she took his place.... it’s the sexism for me.
I think Shuri is a perfect choice for BP2, especially since perfects the new heart shaped herb. It only makes since she will be the first to try it out, and, as a result, take on the duties, which will obviously be needed.
She is a good Choice but I'd say w'kabi and okoya would be better for 2 so they can make sure shuri can get the skills needed for defeating m'Baku in hand to hand combat, so maybe black Panther 3 or 4 but not 2 in my eyes
Plenty of great young black actors that deserve a shot at eventually playing T-chala. Suri is only bp temporarily in the comics. T’chala is bp. Theyre going to have to recast. Maybe suri is bp for a little while until T’chala returns or something like that.
@@klytonsaint945 In time , I totally agree but not now. Shuri does become the first black female to be Black Panther but also sacrifice her life for Wakanda but bring her back to the real world , wait for it, oh yes it’s her brother T’Challa, the one everyone of these none readers of Black Panther comics who Google about Shuri but not reading the whole ark of the story. This is what I called familiarity : reason you can’t let go of someone you lost or can’t see else besides the first person. Everyone believes that Hugh Jackman was the best choice for Wolverine, when reality he was the one everyone saw first. Remember the character is 5’3 and Mr. Jackman is 6’2. The character is hairy and unkept but Mr. Jackman was made to close to the character without being hairy. Finally Hugh Jackman was the only person to play Wolverine. So you can’t see someone else besides him play the role. He was never comic book accurate. Chadwick Boseman is gone I’m sad to say but the character he played go to the graveyard with him. There are many of talented young black actors who could played T’Challa. Remember he was the creation of the Stan Lee and Jack Kirby not Chadwick Boseman. This character is very important to the MCU and the black community as well. T’Challa’s stories should continue on and Chadwick Boseman’s legacy will continue as well.
This is sick! Tbh I think when it talks about her regrowing the heart shaped herb, she’s just trying to restore the future possibilities for future black panthers rather than making for herself. Obviously now it’s going to be either her or mbaku as the next black panther. Also I would recommend watching New Rockstars recent video that also talks about this bc they talk about a theory revolving around mbaku’s trube having their own supply of heart shaped herb.
But mbaku tribe didnt have a heart shaped herb hence why queen mother and shuri took the herb to him to try and save WAKANDA from killmonger but mbaku had already saved T'challa
I agree 💯‼️ ... I want to see BP’s stories with Namor and Storm played out on the Big Screen... Recasting is done all of the time... Most thought the same thing about the Joker when Heath Ledger passed UNTIL J. Phoenix absolutely killed the Joker role... If we use our imagination, there are several Black Male Actors who would do BP’s character justice... That’s the best way to honor Boseman.
This Shuri from MCU is far from being the perfect candidate for a new Black Panther. First of all, there must NOT be a new Black Panther. T'challa is too important and must go on in the MCU. But in that case, Nakia, Okoye and M'Baku would be much better than Shuri.
No one can ever live up to Chadwick. But still I fully believe they should recast and keep going with T'challa's story. It would be a great disservice to Chadwick's memory if the character he made popular for many people and became a role model for hundreds of black children, had just died in the beginning of the movie. Movies are separate from Reality. And I personally think that Chadwick would want his story to continue and maybe in the future lead to Shuri talking up the mantle.
We gotta deal with Chad dying AND Black Panther dying?? Thats two totally different entities. Makes no sense. Black Panther will be re cast... the studios have Heart and Brains.
Yeah, I'd pass. Nothing against Shuri or women heroes, but my kid loves T'Challa. He's already been told that he can't be Batman or Superman or Thor because he's black. He doesn't want to be a vampire or a sidekick. He wants to be a hero who's front and center. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and even Ant Man got more than one film. King T'Challa only gets one film where he's the lead? Really? Marvel just needs to recast. The character didn't die, unfortunately the actor has. But, other MCU actors have been recast. Hulk and Rhodey come to mind. So, I don't go for this Shuri idea. They NEED to recast!
@@jasonwhitcom1677 You're exactly right. They re-cast all Super Heroes from Superman to "The Tick". But people want to kill off Black Panther. Shuri just got introduced as a Character in this MCU. She isn't ready for a lead role. The Actress or the Character. I just don't get it.
Having Shuri as the new black panther is really awesome. The fact that something works well doesn't mean it can't be updated. She has acted well and deserves the chance to prove herself to the Wakanda clan
I’m gonna say this right now, if they make shuri BP, the franchise will die slowly. Dead honest truth. A female BP is not gonna make as much money as a male BP. The best option was to recast.
So, T'Challa is still very much alive and well in the comicbooks and has literally hundreds upon hundreds of stories yet to tell. But we're just going to have to be fine with that, yep. Also, what's the point of introducing the Multiverse in Dr Strange if you can't have different appearances for T'Challa. If Shuri is so smart and she finds out about the Multiverse, wouldn't she at least try to find some way of getting her brother back. Even if he's from a different world.
@@otprReviews honestly they should just have made killmonger the new black panther...and give him a redemption arc... booomm 100 trillion revenue movie.

I think Killmonger could access to the thrown when he is being resurrected and be the next male BP in order to help Shuri with the thrown. moreover Erik Killmonger has tasted the power of the herb before and was able to able to get possessed to it.he knows how to control the Bp power...
I agree. Shuri obviously is of royal blood. But T'Challa prepared to be Black Panther his entire life. In ritual combat for the Black Panther, M'Baku would surely kill her. Having taken the Heart shaped herb, Kilmonger has probably passd on to the Afterlife with the other panthers. Which means, like T'Challa, he can return.
I personally Love tyhe idea of the sister taken the mantle everything works the rightful heir to the kingdom a women/ scientist shows the diversity of women super heroes. Yes
I agree but now this all woman marvels crap is coming out. If this honestly happens I’m done with marvel entirely. And it’s not that I don’t hate female heroes I hate the way that they are identifying them as, not really a hero but because I’m a woman and that’s why I’m awesome. Which just leads to a really shitty narrative.
If anyone maybe read the comic books they would know that Shuri DOES actually become the Black Panther in the Dark Reign Black Panther Series first published in 2008 when T'challa is in a coma after being injured in a battle with Doctor Doom. He never takes the mantle of Black Panther back from her in that comic line. So no, it wouldn't be marvel doing the whole 'girl power thing' Shuri is one badass character in the comics and is just as qualified as T'challa as being Black Panther canonically.
I don’t think shuri will be the next black Panther and I don’t believe that the MCU will suddenly develop a story line where T’challa abruptly dies after The Infinity War. Bruce Banner was subsequently portrayed by Mark Ruffalo and War Machine by Don Cheadle. In time Marvel will find the next actor to honor Boseman by embodying Black Panther. Have faith everyone.
Yeah but Chadwick Boseman embodied that character so perfectly....just like Robert Downey Jr did Iron Man, Hugh Jackman did Wolverine and Ryan Reynolds is currently doing as Deadpool...I like the idea of Leticia Wright(Shuri) somebody we already are used to, taking over the role. It just makes sense...
True that the current hulk and war machine actors have taken over others but they were around for 1 movie so it was more forgivable to be replaced. Chadwick did 4 movies as Black Panther so replacing him would be harder to forgive.
They'll eventually recast but not this early. For Black Panther 2 they'll let Shuri play the role and for 3rd part they might bring in a new actor, after considerable amount of time has passed. This way they can pay respects to Chad and also carry forward the original Black Panther in the future.
I don’t know how to feel about this...I think they should give it some time and just recast someone later down the road, instead of skipping an entire black panther franchise and going straight to Shuri’s....
@JJ Kingman Right? I just think they should put the movie on hold for a while cause....no lol Shuri got whooped in infinity war. She is wayyyysss away from becoming BP
I'd prefer them to CGI his face onto a body double or recast him altogether so that Black Panter can have his own arc and eventually transition to Shuri
She could become black panther, Bucky Barnes become her love interest, have a child baring the same name of her brother and T'Challa could become the Black Panther once again somewhere down the road.
I love how Leticia Wright's answer to this. I don't think we are still ready. They are still mourning Chadwick. To Marvel and Ryan Coogler, take your time.
Im so sorry Chadwick passed but he played the character and the character didnt die just saying there's so much still for this character to do in the mcu.
Yeah but he hid his sickness to play the character while a great performance why would he want the character dead he wants the character to inspire more people
Shuri becomes BP in the COMICS, and has been for years now. This was the plan all along. T'challa lives on though, as King of the Dead and a member of the illuminati and a rival to Namor. THAT shouldn't go away. Shuri being BP, absolutely fine, but they shouldn't retire T'challa. Eventually they should 100% recast. Too important a character to just set aside.
I think it’s the perfect way to keep to storyline going. No one will ever replace Chadwick Boseman but they’re not trying to..passing the title to his onscreen sister seems like the perfect fit.
I was honestly thinking they would do the Killmonger redeeming himself so I don’t know how to feel about this. Shuri is an amazing character but I just feel like it is too soon.
That fool died. And there’s no way they’d give him the new herb after what he did. He’d be a prisoner. Hence his speech at the end right before he pulled the spear out
It’s really great to see Marvel thinking ahead about things like these. No one can replace Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, but it would be great to see Letitia Wright take on the mantle and preserve his legacy
What if t’challa had a son with Nakia and he becomes the next black panther we don’t know if t’challa made out with Nakia in the last movie of screen so we have this theory in mind 🤔🤔
Some of you guys or most of you guys in the comments here are being hypocritical. You guys are so focused on cast and the family moving forward with the film the way that you want it that you forget how they still feel about the loss of Chadwick. If they do choose to move forward with the film and to move forward the way that they feel it should be shown and delivered then that will be their decision AND NOT ANY OF YOURS!! Shame on all of you GODDAMNIT!!
The Cosmic Wonder still taking this as a huge grain of salt for right now, we don't know what Marvel Studios is gonna do since they are still mourning Chadwick Boseman , they are still in mourning and they have every right to , no one can ever replace Chadwick Boseman , but i think Shuri (Letitia Wright) should be the mantle of black panther and it makes sense since she is the next person up for the throne
Awesome! I think that's a great idea. I was worried about how they would replace him. I even started thinking up ideas myself :"). One idea that I had was making a hologram of him and having him be trapped on another planet where his special powers are inactive because vibranium only works on earth. Maybe he can come in contact with the Guardians of the Galaxy somehow or perhaps his airplane enters a time warp will in stealth mode and he's sucked from our universe... (tbc)
But they also know everyone will be upset if they just let some new person in to take his role, there is no other option than alot of hate depending on who it is
@@thepuggsey Black panther is more than a role, it's a title, and what Chadwick created around it, no-one will be able to live up to what he had done, it's gonna be weird and uncomfortable for the audiance to see some other new person take black panther
They probably have unused footage and with the magic of CGI, they can create a scene that explains what happened to him. Just like they did with Carrie Fisher in Star wars.
I don't get how some people don't get how important T'Challa is. If they kill him I'm done with it. The movie's can crash & burn for all I care. WAKANDA FOREVER🙅🏾♂️T'CHALLA LIVES
Do you read comic book at all because if so then you Shuri is a temporary Black Panther and T’Challa take back the mantle of Black Panther. So that means he will NEED to be recast anyway. So why waste a film on these so-called fake ass Marvel causal fans with Shuri instead of just recast T’Challa in the first place. But you probably think it’s disrespectful to Chadwick Boseman and his legacy but instead it’s disrespectful the legacy of Chadwick Boseman, Stan Lee, & Jack Kirby for not continuing what they started so stop to push Shuri so early in his story. This is T’Challa’s story not Shuri or Chadwick Boseman’s story . The character that’s what everyone forgetting about you know created in July 1966 before Chadwick Boseman was ever born. Seriously that’s a huge disrespect of the character with T’Challa no one would know of a Chadwick Boseman . Give another talented black actor the chance to play this iconic character and move on but not right away maybe in few years. Don’t need rush on a Black Panther 2 film. We got time to find the right person and plan out how they can honor Chadwick Boseman tastefully but recasting is the best choice for the character, the story, and the legacy of Chadwick Boseman and T’Challa / Black Panther the character . Again Chadwick Boseman was a great actor and will be missed by us all but they shouldn’t kill off T’Challa because of an actor death.
That depends on the comic line you read. In Dark Reign, DoomWar and Klaws of the Panther, he never takes the mantle of Black Panther back from her. She remains the Black Panther. She sacrifices herself in New Avengers #24 saving him and it was only in the 2016 Black Panther series that he is once again the Black Panther. So there is room within canon to make Shuri the next Black Panther in the movie. I do believe that they need to delay the movie though, they need to find a respectful way to handle the transition, and one that will pay homage to Chadwick Boseman, before they jump into a new movie.
@@ashleighmacfie8338 I agree, don’t need to rush to a new film yet , that’s distasteful but in time we can come back to his story ark ( T’Challa ) and one day be able to see another talented black actor take on the role of T’Challa. Yes there’re a lot of source materials for Shuri but at this point Shuri not ready to take the mantle of Black Panther yet. As we already know that Shuri is also a Black Panther but in the MCU she doesn’t show any signs of wanting to be Black Panther and that’s how it was written in the film. So you want to ignore all T’Challa’s stories so you can make yourself feel better about Chadwick Boseman no longer being Black Panther, this is the reason why so called MCU fans shouldn’t have a say on a character who have been around before anyone of you was born. Not to mention to the black community. His stories need to continue on even if Chadwick is no longer with us. His legacy will lives on with the new actor playing T’Challa. You seem like you’ve done your homework on Black Panther but as for a African American male, we don’t have a lot of positive super heroes in the comic book community also not to mention in the black community as well because we are painted as the villain or the sidekick or Remember: Iron Man had War Machine Captain America had Falcon Thor had Heimdall And if you say what about Blade , OK let’s talk about his origin story: Eric Brooks was born in a whorehouse in the Soho neighborhood of London, England in 1929. His mother, Tara Brooks, was a prostitute at Madame Vanity's Brothel. When Tara experienced severe labor complications, a doctor that was summoned who was in actuality vampire Deacon Frost who feasted during Eric's birth, which killed Tara. However, this inadvertently passed along certain vampire enzymes to the infant. This resulted in giving him an immunity to vampirism, including vampire bites and hypnosis. Blade has also speculated it that it gave him a hatred of vampires, though this may simply be hyperbole on his part. Tara's fellow prostitutes drove off Frost before the infant could be killed as well. Someone that black children can look up to. For some black children besides the vampire stuff that’s some black children it’s their reality. Instead of the venom from a vampire, it’s drugs in their community. Maybe someone of these kids today see T’Challa as hope to the world around them. But you can keep your Superman, Batman, Flash , Spider Man, Joker , hell even Professor Dumbledore back in 2002 when Richard Harris died . He was recast without one word on DON’T recast Dumbledore. And no multiverse in Harry Potters series so it can be done tastefully. Grown up. The character should the most important to the story not the actor, If Hugh Jackman would have dies after making X2 you’re telling me that Marvel should know kill off Wolverine because Hugh Jackman is dead. Or if Henry Cavill should dies before making Man Of Steel 2 we should ask not to recast and kill off the character and bring in Supergirl instead. Or Robert Pattinson should be found dead in his home, are we going to continue with Dick Grayson because in the comic he became Batman for a short time . It sound crazy but that’s exactly what you so called Marvel fans are asking to do to T’Challa . Not cool.

Incidentally i see you missed out Miles Morales in your list. Also a character I am hoping to see much more of in future. That was another groundbreaking film. Either way. The Black Panther movie was one of the most iconic, most progressive films. It was a film that deserved to be made and took too damn long to be made in the first place. My only hope is that they are able to move forward in such a way that they can honor the source material, the legacy that it has to readers and the legacy that has now been translated to film for new fans. It took too long to happen and the momentum needs to continue and branch into every form of media. If that means recast then cool, if that means Shuri takes the mantle then thats okay too.

Sad if it is Shuri, just another excuse on behalf of Marvel to keep up with female empowerment crap and to proceed with the FemiNazi agenda. **sigh**

They're also making it harder on themselves than it needs to be. T'Challa is the perfect character to usher Ororo/Storm and Namor into the MCU as well.

I think they should re-cast. Chadwick would want them to continue forward. She’s not mature enough.
I have faith that Marvel will honour Chadwick's memory in a beautiful and respectful way in Black Panther II
I am for Shuri all the way, perfect fit, she has the same spirit
I think it's too early to make Shuri the Black Panther, and a tad bit disrespectful to take the character of TChalla out of the MCU because of Chadwick's death.
THIS! 100%. Shuri DOES become BP in the comics, has been for years, but T'challa should be recast eventually

Not true, Storm and black panther had a son in the comics. With some creative writing they could easily make him the new black panther.

@@marvelgeekie9897 if t'challa dies offscreen I'm gonna flip out
If anyone maybe read the comic books they would know that Shuri DOES actually become the Black Panther in the Dark Reign Black Panther Series first published in 2008 when T'challa is in a coma after being injured in a battle with Doctor Doom. He never takes the mantle of Black Panther back from her in that comic line. So no, it wouldn't be marvel doing the whole 'girl power thing' Shuri is one badass character in the comics and is just as qualified as T'challa as being Black Panther canonically.
One word: RECAST.
Marvel is not recasting the part.
I will miss Chadwick B. but that sounds perfect to my ears. Go Shuri ! The character deserves it and the actress deserves it too.
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. CHADWICK WOULD BE SO PLEASE AND PROUD.
-The Heart-Shaped Herb can be like the Holy Eucharist! The person who consumes it is filled with the Holy Ghost! (St. John 6:55).
I like the idea of Shuri taking on the role of black panther
Just commenting to say “Duh.” Read the comics.
I love the idea - looking forward to seeing it soon!
RAGING 😠 T Challa arc ain’t even finished 😠 there’s multiple movies T challa can star in, besides he’s fairly new, I hope this is just a rumour
Rlly dude who else you can’t mad the dude frieking died
Nothing this youtuber covers is real. Its 100% speculation based loosely on comic arcs, and we all know how accurately those get portrayed 🙄
@@Zir0_ZoneZ Ik that but I’m still wondering who his idea was

@@toepringles1388 I was responding to OP comment, not your subsequent one.
This is not a deepfake video. LOL
Recasting is the only option.
@@ameybirulkar7503 deep fake technology and Marvel CGI has come a very long way. A recast would be even weirder
Love the idea love the video
She could become black panther, Bucky Barnes become her love interest, have a child baring the same name of her brother and T'Challa could become the Black Panther once again somewhere down the road.
Those two characters absolutely have nothing in common.
Excuse me, what?
I love how Leticia Wright's answer to this. I don't think we are still ready. They are still mourning Chadwick. To Marvel and Ryan Coogler, take your time.
Im so sorry Chadwick passed but he played the character and the character didnt die just saying there's so much still for this character to do in the mcu.
Happy Birthday Cosmic Warren. All the best.
I'm glad that black panther 2 will still be filmed, but really sad that Chadwick won't play the role 😭😭
NICE VIDEO!!! You make awesome videos!!!
When Chadwick died I knew shuri will become the new black panther
Yeah but he hid his sickness to play the character while a great performance why would he want the character dead he wants the character to inspire more people
Good Luck With That I'm Not Going To See It
@@y.k.2726 😴😴😴😴😴😴
Shuri becomes BP in the COMICS, and has been for years now. This was the plan all along. T'challa lives on though, as King of the Dead and a member of the illuminati and a rival to Namor. THAT shouldn't go away. Shuri being BP, absolutely fine, but they shouldn't retire T'challa. Eventually they should 100% recast. Too important a character to just set aside.
I think most people knew
I think it’s the perfect way to keep to storyline going. No one will ever replace Chadwick Boseman but they’re not trying to..passing the title to his onscreen sister seems like the perfect fit.
I was honestly thinking they would do the Killmonger redeeming himself so I don’t know how to feel about this. Shuri is an amazing character but I just feel like it is too soon.
Didn’t he die
Agree‼️
Killmonger died
That fool died. And there’s no way they’d give him the new herb after what he did. He’d be a prisoner. Hence his speech at the end right before he pulled the spear out
@@zaimusic_150 never seen him die, he took the herb so he has all the powers as the BP specially healing t’challa could of helped healed him
It’s really great to see Marvel thinking ahead about things like these.
It kinda makes sense .They can tell a story around her and shuri is a strong character.
I don’t know how to feel.
I’m hella excited for this! 🤩 But, R.I.P. Chadwick... 😩😩
I don't know what to think either. But.... use the force Luke.
I love to see Shuri be the next Black Panther.
I knew that was going to happen! rip Chadwick Boseman.
The Cosmic Wonder still taking this as a huge grain of salt for right now,
we don't know what Marvel Studios is gonna do since they are still mourning Chadwick Boseman , they are still in mourning and they have every right to , no one can ever replace Chadwick Boseman , but i think Shuri (Letitia Wright) should be the mantle of black panther and it makes sense since she is the next person up for the throne
No I Want Recast
(tbc)
Shuri taking on the mantle is the best move.
That would make sense!!
Another male black panther need to be cast for the movie.
I love the idea I mean talk about empowering women to be the heroines for the change in on board team shuri all the way
They need to recast T'Challa. Killing him off offscreen makes zero sense.
That’s what I said. I wanna see more of his character
But they also know everyone will be upset if they just let some new person in to take his role, there is no other option than alot of hate depending on who it is
and you think people will just forget that some other black guy is somehow T'Challa now?
@@thepuggsey Black panther is more than a role, it's a title, and what Chadwick created around it, no-one will be able to live up to what he had done, it's gonna be weird and uncomfortable for the audiance to see some other new person take black panther
Best news ever! I love Shuri.
R.I.P Chadwick 🖤
Multi verse is the best way 2 2ntroduce the new black panther.....prefrrably Michael jai white.....
I wonder how they will explain t’challas death😢
ye
They probably have unused footage and with the magic of CGI, they can create a scene that explains what happened to him.
Just like they did with Carrie Fisher in Star wars.
I don't get how some people don't get how important T'Challa is. If they kill him I'm done with it. The movie's can crash & burn for all I care.
WAKANDA FOREVER🙅🏾♂️T'CHALLA LIVES
@@ronn-ammon8975 how closed minded of you tho
Introduce Namor and have him lay siege on Wakanda like in the comics
This is what I've been saying since chadwask's death. He did a great job as Black Panther.
It's too early for her to become BP...they should've recast him.
I completely agree.
Agreed.
Love you Cosmic Wonder!!!❤️❤️❤️
It makes perfect sense being that it is accurate to the comics.
Chadwick Boseman was an actor par excellence who also seemed like he was a decent human being. However, his work was not characters
@@ashleighmacfie8338
I agree, don’t need to rush to a new film yet , that’s distasteful but in time we can come back to his story ark ( T’Challa ) and one day be able to see another talented black actor take on the role of T’Challa. You seem like you’ve done your homework on Black Panther but as for a African American male, we don’t have a lot of positive super heroes in the comic book community also not to mention in the black community as well because we are painted as the villain or the sidekick or Remember:
Iron Man had War Machine
Captain America had Falcon
Thor had Heimdall
And if you say what about Blade ,
OK let’s talk about his origin story:
Eric Brooks was born in a whorehouse in the Soho neighborhood of London, England in 1929.
Not cool.
@@davidkimbrough2425 I like your quick assumption that I am just an MCU fan. Far from it. I am a fan of Marvel and of DC. In both comic and cinematic forms. So now that that portion of your misconception has been cleared, what about all of the little GIRLS of colour? Do they not deserve someone too?
Either way, the only thing they CANNOT do is stop telling the story of Black Panther.

I think this generation of young children will be just fine with knowing both T’Challa and Shuri but keep in mind that's this is T'Challa ’s story ark not Shuri yet. Maybe in the 3 installment they introduced Ororo Monroe / Storm to the mix. Or give her own solo features film.
