    For long commute, you can add two adapter and two ego batteries with DPDT switch on bike back seat and swap power on/off between two battery 🍺😜

      @JerryMinne  2 года назад +1

      You could, but simply swap batteries is much easier.

      I thinking put controller and two batteries in plastic enclosure with lock 🔐 too

    Love it. Does the battery lock into the adapter?
    I personally think after a dedicated name brand ebike battery, a Ego or Toro or similar 48 to 60 volt power tool battery platform should be the go to for a build.
    Why put up with cells packed tight, getting overheated, of questionable quality, on a generic ebike battery when you can use ones that have 3 year warranty (or 5 for the 10 Ah Ego) and have better thermal management? Only addition would be to add a simple weather tight sort of cover to use during inclement weather if you are commuting with it. They are already ruggedized and fully potted from the factory as well, lending them to the harsh environment of outdoor power tools.

      As it's long slide in to the battery. It hold the battery strong and solid.

    Like the comment below, I am wondering if the EGO battery will get in the way of peddling?
    Also, if you use peddle assist mode (50% power, etc.), how long would a 5ah ego battery last? (est miles). Thank you.

    I was thinking about this and bybthe way I like how you put the links in for the adapters but with my 48v and 1000w hub motor mod along with the original battery on my Lectric ebike I could probably easily get 30 miles out of it without even worring too much about the speeds I'm going. Of course if I went all out probably only 10-15 miles but being conservative with the power may definitely get about 40 mi plus which I spent 899 plus tax and another $700 for the new mods. I thought being a 56v it would give better more range and power but I'm sure amps and all have a factor which I'm not too familiar with. Good video.

    This concept is already being used, On a 250 watt brush motor. Companies know this. Now cats out of bag, Ego batteries may rise. Time will tell.

    I am getting ready to convert my MTB to an e-bike using EGO batteries.
    The Wattage meter you reference, where can I find it for sale? Is there another name I can search on?

    Ordered your adapter off Etsey. Want to see if I can pedal or if battery gets in the way.

      Did the battery get in the way? Looking at doing the same thing but the battery seems very wide.

      I use a 7.5ah battery on my custom electric Catrike Villager. It performs better than my 48v pack. My controller is shunt modded and probably can draw 50amps, which my 48v battery will not be able to handle. The 48v battery has shut down on occasions of high draw. This EGO battery has no problem with my shunt modded controller.

    I have Ryobi 40v batteries and a 36 v front wheel motor. Do you have any adapter suggestions for mounting Ryobi?

      @JerryMinne  3 года назад

      Sorry. Only ryobi has different terminal. I can't make adapter for it.
