How about calcium carbonate instead of plaster of paris? I make my own fabulous chalk paint with calcium carbonate and latex paint and a little water, so I'm thinking the same recipe only thicker for stencil texture and just adding Elmer's glue? I'm not sure what the glue does, is it a hardener?
