      Лучше поставить обычный бензиновый мотор и питать его недогоревшими газами СО. Закрытая ёмкость с дровами слегка протопленная с доступом воздуха - источник СО. А на видео прикол с очень маленьким запасом воды. На сутки понадобится примерно около 2000литров воды. Все время бегать доливать? И подкладывать дрова которых тоже кг 500 выйдет , а то и больше. А так сделал закладочеу на бочку 200 литров и хватит на 2 дня.

      @@gwseymour You can craft a small oil separator! It's just a vertical tank with deflectors and metal kitchen scrubbers which will act as a filter and allow the oil to condense, separating it from the steam. This will also allow you to reuse the oil.

    • @gwseymour
      @gwseymour  Год назад +2

      @@franciscofernandez5666 I appreciate your thoughts, but I have to respectfully disagree on multiple levels. The oil can't condense, because it hasn't evaporated in the first place. It is just particulate matter carried by the steam. As described, your separator would simply condense the steam, and oily water would be the result. Maybe I'm not picturing it correctly. Either way, ANY oil in the boiler water is ugly, as it causes bubble to cling together and surge....disrupting the boiler operation. Why bother if clean water is available?

    Wouldnt it be more effective is you edit the intake valve en use that for your steam intake than the sparkplug intake? When the exhaust valve opens the steam for coming from you bougie Just goes out the exhaust port

    • @gwseymour
      @gwseymour  Год назад

      If you use the intake valve for the steam inlet, then you are limited to very low steam pressure, as it will push the valve open. Yes, this design "looses" some steam during the exhaust stroke, but the simple mechanical efficiency causes it to wind up super fast. RPM = HP.

    The pressure is regulated how? The 70% lost energy in a gas powered engine is in the form of heat that could be used to power a boiler with exhaust heat after the cat that is actually hotter than a open flame which could be used as recaptured energy but it depends on torque output of the steam engine? A 1900's model Stanley Steamer had 800 FPT per 1 revolution which is insanely good power. How much power can that small engine produce?

    • @gwseymour
      @gwseymour  3 года назад

      The pressure is regulated by how much fire you have going. Any excess is bled off by a hand valve or relief valve. The test boiler is not that efficient as seen, with much of the heat (open flame) escaping. Running as it is in the vid, I think it's doing about 2 hp. I believe the Stanley ran off around 500 psi, which will give you LOTS of power, no matter what application you use. Thanks for watching!

      Just do a LOT of research on boiler design. The main thing, is that regardless of how thick or strong, there always has to be water behind the area of the boiler being heated. The boiling water acts as a coolant to prevent the steel from reaching temps where it looses it's strength. Even an oxy bottle will loose strength very quickly above 700 degrees F.

      Around 500 watts If he used both valves on that engine or build a MUCH better engine like a rotary vane or small turbine, then maybe 2000 watts. I really like this boiler because its very unlikely to explode and is very easy to use. a larger water drum " bottom big tube" would be helpful. just remember a boiler feed pump is needed for this type of boiler so water level is sometimes hard to maintain. The good thing about steam is its reliable and FREE. you can use the exhaust to heat your home or shop! 🤗
