What Cpu did you use cause I want to use a i5-12600K but on amaxzon it says there are only certain CPUs it can use and so based on what you use I can tell what I can use.
When considering a processor for the ASUS Prime B660-PLUS D4 LGA 1700 motherboard, it's important to keep in mind the compatibility with the LGA 1700 socket and the specific features you require. As of my last update in September 2021, the Intel Alder Lake processors were expected to be the ones compatible with LGA 1700. For the best processor recommendation, it depends on your usage needs and budget. Intel's Alder Lake lineup offers a variety of performance levels catering to different requirements. The Core i9 or Core i7 models might be suitable for high-end gaming and demanding tasks, while the Core i5 could be a good balance between performance and cost-effectiveness. However, I recommend checking the latest processor compatibility list from ASUS and reviewing updated benchmarks and reviews to find the best processor for your specific use case, as processor options and performance could have evolved since my last update. cnl
I'm pretty sure I used the most up-to-date bios at the time of the video! If you don't see it I'd recommend updating your bios as I could be the reason why!
I´m thinking about getting this with Intel i5 13600k and a 3080 next week. Will this be a good combo or should i look for a more "high end" motherboard for the CPU and GPU i´m buying? Loved the review!
Just do it, everything works out of the box (XMP, resizeable bar...) .. Everytime I choose other motherboards than Asus I regretted it (since 2000+). I use the little brother (ASUS PRIME B660M-A D4 Gaming) for 1/2 years without a single problem. I going to buy this board for my office pc, because it´s really cheap (130 Euros in Austria). To be honest: Do you really benefit from the new B760 chipset? If not, the B660 is a bargain, even in middle 2023.
Great video! im trying to connect my caldigit ts3+ via the type c port on the motherboard IO but anytime i try to connect it tells me thunderbolt device may be limited. i downloaded all the latest drivers too. any idea what the issue might be?
No, the ASUS Prime B660-PLUS D4 LGA 1700 motherboard does not support overclocking for the Intel Core i5-12400F processor. This is because the i5-12400F is a non-K processor, which means that its clock multiplier is locked and cannot be adjusted. The B660 chipset does not support CPU overclocking, and the motherboard does not have any built-in overclocking features for this processor. If you want to overclock your CPU, you would need to choose a different motherboard with a Z690 chipset and a "K" series CPU, such as the i5-12600K or i9-12900K. I hope this helps! cnl
I chose this motherboard for my first build, I haven't started building in it yet because I'm still waiting for my graphics card to arrive. I have a quick question however, this motherboard doesn't come with wifi, what exactly do I do to get wifi for my pc?

I think you would be happy with this combo! Its good enough to save a few bucks to spend elsewhere on your build!

Does the board have a wifi?
Nope, you’ll have to get a separate wifi card
