Königssee Lake, Schönau GERMANY 2023 • 4K 60 fps HDR ASMR

The Königssee lake, or King's lake, is located in the Berchtesgaden national park in southern Germany Bavaria, close to the Austrian border. The first thing that you see when you get there, is the huge parking area with the Jennerbahn gondola at the far eastern end of the parking lot.
The walk takes you towards the lake, to the village known as Schönau am Königssee. Tourist shops and accommodations can be found along this 7-minute walk to the lake. It's a hot summer day on the 22nd June in 2023 at around 1 pm, so the road and lake area are not as busy as usual.
Once at the lake we admire the color of the blue water and watch the boats docking and taking in a new set of visitors. This lake is elongated and what you see from Schönau is just a piece of this large lake.
A boat ride takes you to a tiny touristy and cute looking “village” known as St.Bartholomä in the Berchtesgaden national park. The boat stops on the way to play a trumpet song, which echoes creating a dazzling atmosphere. I recommend a boat ride to St.Bartholomä or further down to Salet to either visit the area or to go for a day hike.

I was there in 2021, as a German i have to say: very very nice countryside but masses of tourists, overtourism, crowded, queues of waiting tourists to get into the boats on lake Königssee. 1 time in my life ok, but that's it.
