I think Macy's time has passed. Their stores are cluttered messes, and the merchandise mix isn't tailored to the area the store is in. You can't find anyone to help you, let alone check you out if you wanted to buy something. Federated flopped big making an assumption that people wanted a NYC store, when what they really wanted was the beloved stores they were familiar with, like Marshall Field's.
