    Nice explanation with all of the calm that is needed for a beginner. I would just point one thing, when you digit 400 in "Pressure Load" i think you are putting 400 Pa in that surface that should be 0.003 m^2. It means that there is a load of 1,2 N applied.

    Best tutorial ever, please make more on abaqus cae and explicit. If possible a bullet penetration through armour material. It will be of great help

    You wanted to apply 40kg(400N) as weight, but you applied that in the "Pressure" category. So, that would mean, you applied 400N/m2 on that face, not a weight of 400N, right?
    Or am I missing something? I just started to learn Abaqus, which is why I am getting a little confused.

      You're right and can refer to the Abaqus documentation by selecting the "arrow+?" symbol and clicking on the "Magnitude" field while editing the load.

    At 53:43 pressure is defined as F/A (in Pa) not in Newtons... Great video!

      Came to comments to see if it's a mistake. Magnitude of pressure can be 400 if we assume it's on a meter square but doesn't seem like it.

      @@UsmanSaleemSulehri I thought it is in Newton as "uniform force" to apply on that surface and it is Abaqus to calculate the area and then associated pressure based on force input...

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASEE HELPP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    I have followed this tutorial step by step
    when I arrive at the Analysis part, I create a Job.
    When submittion, it starts to run, but a couple seconds later, the running is "aborted".
    Why is this? I think I have done everything exactly the same.....I am using Abaqus/CAE student Edition 2021
    THE ERRORS:
    Error in job LoadedBarbellStand: A CONSOLIDATION ANALYSIS IS NOT MEANINGFUL BECAUSE NO PERMEABILITY DATA HAVE BEEN GIVEN.
    Error in job LoadedBarbellStand: DEGREE OF FREEDOM 8 AND AT LEAST ONE OF DEGREES OF FREEDOM 1 THRU 6 MUST BE ACTIVE IN THE MODEL FOR *SOILS. CHECK THE PROCEDURE AND ELEMENT TYPES USED IN THIS MODEL.

    Isnt the unit of the Load defined incorrectly? you said 400N but ABAQUS requests pressure. In your units, wouldnt that be 400N/surface Area of surface where pressure is applied (in m squared)?

    Hey, one question: once you apply a Boundary Condition to an early step (the FixedToGround in the Initial Step, for example), the BC is automatically carried over to all subsequent steps?

    I wanted to ask u about the pressure force, You have applied 400N on an area, for a 40kg Barbell, weren't u supposed to convert this force in pressure as per the selected area? Please clarify.

      Yes he should have, I think it’s a mistake, although it does not impact the tutorial itself.

      He goes to pressure option > Select some area > Give the force to be applied in that area. The software finishes the work.
