Hi @Click4Gameplay ! Thank you for playing Sands of Aura since the beginning of Early Access! You're amazing! Being able to hear you notice and appreciate the improvements we've made is great to hear. I would like to also let you know that we have updated the game to Patch Version 0.05 on October 14. This is our Pre-1.0 patch that features even more improvements to the game in preparation for the full release later this month! We would love to hear what your thoughts are on those improvements, especially after 1.0 release as well. Thank you for playing, - Chashu Entertainment
Appreciate you spreading the word on some of these often overlooked games. As a fellow RPG lover, im always excited to see something new that i havent heard of before.
I've been playing Alaloth a bunch lately and, even though it feels janky in a lot of places the visuals and the fact that I like the feel of the combat keep me playing. It's a nice game to hop into for an hour or two and once you get past the beginning can be pretty satisfying after a day at work.
I heard of "Svarog's Dream" when they had an event going that was only good for December. If you collected 21/30 scrolls hidden throughout the game before the end of the month you would get your name on a hidden in-game wall forever. I finished up what I was doing in another game, and switched to "Svarog's Dream" around the 27th or the 28th. I had some false starts, but eventually got my stuff together and on the morning of Saturday the 30th I started a marathon session that would last until just before 7a.m. central time when I got my 21st scroll. I sent in a screenshot of my progress screen, and a few days later I went to the wall and there was my name. So a hundred years from now when someone is retro-gaming they can read my name on the wall along with whatever the others had put there. I love the game. It has multiple ways to play it. You can play as good or evil, and you actually get to define good and evil.
C4g! I'm from Italy and i have to say that gaming productions here are not something common we have very few people dedicated into making games. Gamera interactive with Alaloth (my opinion) has balls because they chosed to do something out of the common games that they've done in past. Now from here i'm waiting Enotria, the last Song!!
I find it funny that you commented on the letter font in Svarog but liked that bold font in Alaloth. Cheers, I'll definitely be looking out for some of these.
The biggest reason it bothers me in Svarog's Dream, is because I had troubles to read anything. Considering that I'm playing on a 45" tv that's right in front of me, that's definitely a problem.
Sands of Aura has potential but my biggest gripe was the questing system is sometimes super vague, so it’s hard to tell what to do. Also some quest directions came from non-repeating NPC dialogs, so it was easy to miss important quest instructions and not be able to hear them again. Hopefully they fix this in the release version 🤞
Great video, but you haven't mentioned the core mechanic of Alaloth that makes it better. Although, if you haven't noticed it or used it it's kinda also a game problem. So the mechanic is that you're racing other NPC champions on the way to Alaloth (If you choose to at the beginning), which makes M&B comparison even better, since it also has some NPC influence on your playthrough. However, other parts are really that underwhelming, so this mechanic might be another reason to check out the game on release, rather than getting to it right now.
You're right. I actually had a part for that recorded, but I accidently deleted it. Like you said, yet another M&B - like feature, which was pretty cool. I really want to love this game, because the idea is cool, and it looks amazing. I'll definitely check it out on the release as well.
Hey, thanks for playing. Just to say that there is no single area "empty" or missing design. Simply, the world changes accordingly with the game world and it has three different phases. If you visit the same place in different moments, you can find different NPC, quests and events. Simply, you can miss all of this if you rush, especially at the beginning. It is not Diablo and if you approach the game as a pure aRPG, that's probably the issue [also, we wrote 350k words for who loves to read. If you don't, yep, it could be an issue as well]. Lore is massive and this is why we define it as a mix of Baldur's Gate and Dark Souls [which is not from us but it is the average quote from reviews]. So far, we've released 70+ pathces and 5 Major Updates with people over 600 hours recorded. Hope you'll give a new run [longer] at some pont! Ciao
Any chance you make follow-up video now that 4 out these 5 games left early access ? Svarog's Dream received a major expansion recently and Achilles has been patched extensively as well.
If you like Dreadhunter, you may want to check out Wildcat Gun Machine. right now I'm mostly looking forward to Dark Envoy, but that might not be up your ally, because it's a RTwP- style combat.
That's The problem with top down side scroller is they are always fun at first but just get boring especially when 3rd person action games exist! Cool video!
This video is gold dude! I've just found these games on Steam and thinkin about to buy some of them. Alaloth looks awesome for me, but based on your video Svarog's dream looks better. I don't know now .. :D
Svarog's dream has so much potential with the humour but what it failed me is that u can't freely attack npc which most modern games nowadays like this. Overall good game
You are doing a huge favor to us GrimDawnchads, I've been browsing Steam trying to look for a new ARPG but it's been very dry. Luckily the new Grim Dawn expansion is scheduled to next year
HA. I don't think I've ever seen any of my favorite youtuber guys talk about Alaloth. I haven't watched the video yet, and I'm excited to see what you have to say about it. I actually think it's pretty neat. I played it about a year ago. I've been thinking of returning and checking out what's changed.
Dreadhunter sounds kinda like Space Siege, but done better. Anyone remember that game? What a let down after Dungeon Siege games... 30:14 wolves stunlockers from Gothic 3?
Glad to see Achilles improved. I notices it shortly after the EA start, but what I saw was underwhelming, so I kinda lost it from my radar. Seems like it's worth giving it another shot.
I just checked that one because looks insteresting to me and its under Early Access, i'll whatch it out when it get a full release. I've had terrible experiences on EA games before.
From seeing your video, Alaloth looks really good visually. Combat doesn't feel as floaty and it has good impact, but maybe that's just the hammer you're wielding. I am not that into soulslike games though, it was never really my thing so I might pass on it. I saw some mention of a time limit in this game. That I have to kill Alaloth within a certain amount of time or someone else will. Is that actually a thing? If so, is that basically a game over?
Single Player campaign is 100+ hours, you can do whatever you want, there is no time limit. There is a different mode which is Competitive in which you play against other champions so it changes because they can chase you and just one can beat Alaloth
I say with Achilles Legends Untold just get rid of the stamina bar or did give me an option to turn it off. I personally think that the game would be better without a stamina bar.
Alaloth has potential, but I also agree that the disjointed feel of the world map and broken map structure is a critical mistake. Not sure if they can fix it.
I don't like fast paced action combat at all. In those games you can't actually block hits by yourself, you just choose some actions that would protect you for a while. Or dodge roll to avoid some damage. I like Mount and Blades style, where you actually do block yourself, and need to get your own hit in unblocked. That means attacks aren't lightning fast, they are realistic.
There are like 2 or 3 games in here whose whole 2D art is GenAI, with a lot of 2D artists working for almost free or the opportunity to be in a project, why is people resorting to this practice?
dungeon siege (best party game ever) diablo II( diablo 2 (party, appearances of random champion every where, killing of bosses for the loot with different skill was fun) dragonage origin series blade and sword (best feature is combos which i miss) Warlords Battle Cry (best hero system ever) SANDS OF SALZAAR Sword Coast Legends SANDS OF SALZAAR Fable The Lost Chapters Eternium dragonage origin series Spellforce(1&2 only) Final fantasy VII remake Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Divine Divinity torchlight II Titan Quest Anniversary Shadows Heretic Kingdoms Victor Vran - Overkill Edition Van Helsing silver gog game darkstone Heores of Annhiliated Empires i have played many but like these most if you know anything near to it let me know
Of course we never heard of most of them because they haven't been released yet :) Also, most of them are an EA titles so hard pass for me. Achilles looks cool though, minus a bit junky movement and combat
Svarog looked the most interesting. For one it was realistic speed, not East-Asian lightning speed combat. Why play Achilles, who can only be wounded in his heel? (Hektor was my fav in Iliad, the book). Alaloth map gave me so much Mount & Blade vibes. Gotta check if my fav mods are still supported, I've never played the current version of Bannerlord, the latest build I played is probably nearly a year old, e1.8.3 or e1.8.2.
I find Sands of Aura attractive in general and also Achilles... Many fans of RPG of course looked at Alaloth (demo), including myself, and it is rather disappointing, sadly: the story and area design is lacking in my opinion.
I think Diablo 4 has the atmosphere to be a great game it has the non twitchy combat style that feels way more chucky and solid but for some reason I never feel like playing it. I don't understand it.
I think there is immense potential in a "crpg Souls-like" like Alaloth, even if Alaloth itself is very flawed. Mixing crpg elements with arpg combat sounds like a match made in heaven for me.
My Issue with Alaloth is that the combat feels, gimmicky It asks you to dodge/parry/block depending on the enemy and the attacks, but it feels really mechanical and not tactical. And the very limited Build diversity doesn't help. It all feels lackluster and halfbaked. And don't start me on the dumbass "Time limit thing" (yeah you have 60days or something to finish the game and you are in a competition with the Champions of the other races/kingdoms, so you have to beat the final boss before any of them...)
You don't have any time limit to finish the game even in Competitive Mode which is basically the single player campaign with other champions searching for artifacts as you do. So please don't say random things, there is no "60 days to finish the game". Both in the campaign and competitive. And the second one feature 40 different enemies with different behaviours so they could be aggressive, or passive or do their stuff forever. To kill Alaloth, you have to find four artifacts. If other champions find these artifacts you have to be after them. Same at the opposite. Calendar is in because the world changes, events unlock and so on. There is no timer
Svarogs deam is good and I like it, (no on told me it had permadeath though before I bought it). Sands of aura is basically a masterpiece of art, gameplay is just mid asf (thats worse than just mid) the boating thing was cool until I learned it was slower than AC Odyssey ships. It basically takes 10 minutes to reach a certain island for a FU*KING FETCH QUEST!?!? Why would anyone develop that? No one wants to explor an island ten real life minutes away. Why would you...Nvm rant over. Achilles is very underwhelming. I kinda knew 10 minutes in how it waa going to go. I played for a good two days trying to give it the benefit of the doubt,. Didnt really find anything worth my time boring locatios, the loot just wasn't worth it, combat was fun though. I know.. no one asked me. Id recommend Drova A.S.A.P
I don't like to sound like a negative nancy here but I believe a lot of gamers today have really lowered their own standards to try to enjoy a lot of games. All these ARPG's look very semi-mediocre. There's a reason why I think older ARPG's like Grim Dawn, Diablo 2 and Path of Exile are still the ones players really enjoy. It's not a nostalgia thing it's just they are better designed games that are more indepth.
True, but the comparison isn't fair. These are low budget indie games (with some interesting ideas). They are ARPGs (mixed with different genres), but they aren't taking their inpiration from Diablo. Most of them seem to be designed for controllers.
you re a good content youtube and dont take this as insult or something but you have very very static monotone voice,or simply whatever you say about perfect game or bad game you had played, its exactly same, you dont hear any voice excitment or something changed :) again dont take as insult..but in my opinion it matters :)
I just tried dungeon hunter 6 for a few minutes, it is traaaaash. They must have really slacked cuz its just another auto battler with god awful translation and really bad dialogue. They call you the spirit kissed hero lol i could not stop laughin

alaloth is what middle earth games cant even dream off , i use to play that and should be a renown game.
Appreciate you spreading the word on some of these often overlooked games. As a fellow RPG lover, im always excited to see something new that i havent heard of before.
Svarog's Dream looks like the most well rounded but Dreadhunter looks like it has nonstop fun. I'll keep my eyes on both of them.
Sands of aura guy: I swear, my desert ship looks bigger on the inside!
I've been playing Alaloth a bunch lately and, even though it feels janky in a lot of places the visuals and the fact that I like the feel of the combat keep me playing. It's a nice game to hop into for an hour or two and once you get past the beginning can be pretty satisfying after a day at work.

Can't wait for the full release of Alaloth. Looks like a really nice RPG.
in sands of Aura combat remind me alot of vrising

Have you heard about the game Batora: Lost Haven? It is an isometric arpg game from a small studio from Sicilia.
@@dennisdavidov782 nope thanks for the info It looks good!
Alaloth's world map was literally made with inkarnate, I don't know why but I find that so funny.
I thought the thumbnail said I'VE BAKED THEM ALL
The artstyle of Achilles looks pretty cool. Hope the full game is good.
Alaloth is great for me, slow phased game with LOTR lore im in to that period
i think Alaloth had a ton of potential. I hope they get to do a sequel with all the lessons they've learned
I find it funny that you commented on the letter font in Svarog but liked that bold font in Alaloth.
Cheers, I'll definitely be looking out for some of these.
The biggest reason it bothers me in Svarog's Dream, is because I had troubles to read anything. Considering that I'm playing on a 45" tv that's right in front of me, that's definitely a problem.
dude, you're my favorite RUclips channel
Another really enjoyable video! Really proud to be one of your Patreons! Always love your videos.
One of the best channels where we can find hidden RPG gems! Thank you

Cool list, hadn't seen any of these before. 😊
Achilles is just another example of anything with Greek Mythology always works.
Thank you for showing some of the unknown RPGs. Some look pretty enjoyable.
hope Svatog's Dream, Sands of Aura & Archilis will come to consoles too!
one nitpick, in Achilles Paris is beatable. Theres an achievement I got, the death cut scene still plays so its super awkward lol
I love this series! Keep it up!
Definitely excited for Dreadhunter and Achilles for sure

Have been keeping an eye on Sands of Aura for a while, souls-like lover that I am. ;-) Looks like it will be a really interesting game!
Svarog's dream has so much potential with the humour but what it failed me is that u can't freely attack npc which most modern games nowadays like this. Overall good game
Thank you so much for your efforts! With almost every vdeo I discover games that are appealing to me. It's just great, keep up the good work!
You are doing a huge favor to us GrimDawnchads, I've been browsing Steam trying to look for a new ARPG but it's been very dry. Luckily the new Grim Dawn expansion is scheduled to next year
GD is my favorite also. c4g introduced it to me with a big expose video probably 4 years ago now, and it still remains my favorite arpg to this day.
It looks like would be nice if Svarog's Dream had fighting mechanics like alaloth - with all blocking ripostes etc
12:00 combat looks awesome, though.
HA. I don't think I've ever seen any of my favorite youtuber guys talk about Alaloth. I haven't watched the video yet, and I'm excited to see what you have to say about it. Just 70+ patches and 5 major updates with 30 hours contents added 😉
Dreadhunter sounds kinda like Space Siege, but done better.
Anyone remember that game? What a let down after Dungeon Siege games...
30:14 wolves stunlockers from Gothic 3?
I remember it. Probably the worst ARPG I've ever played. And the Dungeon ones were so fun...
30:15
Dogs in any game bro be op 😭
Glad to see Achilles improved.
I notices it shortly after the EA start, but what I saw was underwhelming, so I kinda lost it from my radar.
Seems like it's worth giving it another shot.
I just checked that one because looks insteresting to me and its under Early Access, i'll whatch it out when it get a full release. I've had terrible experiences on EA games before.
It's nice to see more games using Slavic mythology.
Yeah it's badass, I live here!
And very sad to see them using AI pictures for game art
You left out the most important part in your review: the control scheme. No mouse, no play.
Have you ever played the first 2 Dungeon Siege games? worth a check out if not :)
Great list!
Shame I was aware of all of the games from the list so were unable to find anything new 😢
Still good job 👍
DreadHunters looks interesting and promising for a mix of BulletHell Shmup` and ARPG.
Sands of aura was optimize or nah ?
alaloth seems have good combat
Dreadhunter i like the chaotic gameplay :D
the Svarog game reminds me of a mix of an ARPG and the game RUnescape, i'm going to check it out
From seeing your video, Alaloth looks really good visually.

@@Eldacar79 I see, so it's a separate thing then. That's good. Thank you for clarifying.
Dreadhunter - bullet hell but you are the source of the bullets lol
I say with Achilles Legends Untold just get rid of the stamina bar or did give me an option to turn it off. I personally think that the game would be better without a stamina bar.
All look interesting for me except Dreadhunter, thats not really ok with me :), but the rest, why not
Don't forget to play Liegon Legend of Excalibur for the ps 2 seems like your type of game
Dreadhunter looks sick
Dread hunter would be a instant buy itf it was ten dollars less i feel like you get more from battle shapers
Alaloth has potential, but I also agree that the disjointed feel of the world map and broken map structure is a critical mistake. Not sure if they can fix it.
Broken map structure? O_o
Do something about grid based or turned based RPGS!
My list:
1.Path Of Exile 2
2.Titan Quest 2
3.Achilles: Legends Untold
4.Dreadhunter
5.Diablo 5
There are like 2 or 3 games in here whose whole 2D art is GenAI, with a lot of 2D artists working for almost free or the opportunity to be in a project, why is people resorting to this practice?
I wishlist achilles in steam but seeying you play looks like the combat is very floaty

Of course we never heard of most of them because they haven't been released yet :)
Also, most of them are an EA titles so hard pass for me. Achilles looks cool though, minus a bit junky movement and combat
Wasn’t interested in dreadhunters until you said Diablo AND doom…
why is the gothic soundtrack in the bachground?
Played them all own em all
Svarog looked the most interesting. For one it was realistic speed, not East-Asian lightning speed combat.
Why play Achilles, who can only be wounded in his heel? (Hektor was my fav in Iliad, the book).

Gothicccccccccccccccccccccc soundtrack!
I had a game called Arcanum when i was young. Whats the closet thing to it ? That Svarogs Dream looks close.....
I think there is immense potential in a "crpg Souls-like" like Alaloth, even if Alaloth itself is very flawed. Mixing crpg elements with arpg combat sounds like a match made in heaven for me.

My Issue with Alaloth is that the combat feels, gimmicky

True, but the comparison isn't fair. These are low budget indie games (with some interesting ideas). They are ARPGs (mixed with different genres), but they aren't taking their inpiration from Diablo. Most of them seem to be designed for controllers.

you re a good content youtube and dont take this as insult or something but you have very very static monotone voice,or simply whatever you say about perfect game or bad game you had played, its exactly same, you dont hear any voice excitment or something changed :) again dont take as insult..but in my opinion it matters :)
I’m happy to get ANY good aRPG’s considering Diablo 4 is a MASSIVE disappointment.
I just tried dungeon hunter 6 for a few minutes, it is traaaaash. They must have really slacked cuz its just another auto battler with god awful translation and really bad dialogue. They call you the spirit kissed hero lol i could not stop laughin
Allaloth was so booooooooring
You really should check and try Lionheart Legacy of the Crusader, very underrated game with interesting world and story.
Noted! Thanks for the suggestion.
