  • The sights along the morning "drift snorkel" from the water taxi to Klein Bonaire. Klein Bonaire is a small uninhabited island off of the leeward coast of Bonaire. The island and all of the waters around it are part of the Bonaire Marine Park.
How it works: The water taxi drops you and your stuff off at no name beach on Klein Bonaire. You reboard the ferry for the empty return trip. After a short ride and a short "dive briefing", hop in the water and drift back to no name beach. The drift snorkel is only available on the first run of the day.
    Some tips:
Do NOT touch the coral with anything, including your fins. The coral is already stressed by the SCTLD disease. You can kill it by touching it. There is also a lot of fire coral on top of the reef, the reef will bite back...
Do NOT feed or harass the critters.
Do stay on the outside of the reef. The top of the reef is very close to the surface. See fire coral above.
Do go slow. You don't have to kick. You will see more because the critters are more relaxed. Chill.
Do wear a rash guard or tee shirt and Reef Safe sunscreen.
Don't worry. All snorkeling humans naturally float. Lay flat on the water, breathe thru the snorkel and enjoy the ride.
Epic Water Taxi offers service from the water sports center in the main harbor near the airport, downtown Kralendijk, and Buddy Dive.
PS: The lunch deal is well worth it. A cooler with plentiful delicious food and drinks and a chair with a shade.
